Welcome to Clayton's Pickle!

Small events and parties are permitted if discussed and approved by the host in advance. Quiet hours of from 7 am to 10 pm are strictly enforced and we use decibel monitors to inform us of noise levels inside and outside the home.

The maximum occupancy of the home is 14 guests. No more than 14 guests are permitted at any point (not just sleeping over). If the occupancy of the home will exceed 14 guests, this must be discussed with the host prior to booking and prior to your stay.

Located just 25 minutes from downtown Raleigh, you will feel like you are at a country estate, yet grocery stores, restaurants, breweries and shopping are all located less than 10 minutes away.

There is so much to do at this house that you may never want to leave, but the location is close to many fun activities. Clayton has a thriving restaurant scene. Mezcalito's is just 3 minutes away! First Street Tavern and Manning's Restaurant are Clayton must-trys. Enjoy a craft beer at Deep River Brewing Company. Swing by Fare Game for some arcade games and pizza.

You can stroll or bike on the Clayton River Walk on the Neuse, a 4 mile paved 10 foot wide trail along the Neuse River.

The 447-acre Bailey and Sarah Williamson Preserve is just 14 minutes away and offers miles of hiking trails.

Outlet shopping is available nearby in Smithfield. There's a lot of golfing available nearby as well.

The entire home is available to guests with the exception of the kitchen pantry that is used as an owner's closet, the garage, and an outdoor shed.

We suggest that you bring your own sports equipment. While we do stock pickleballs, paddles, disc golf frisbees and basketballs, these items seem to get lost and we would hate for your visit to be interrupted by missing equipment.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook a great meal. We do not provide any food items beyond salt, pepper, cooking spray, and a few starter coffee kpods.

Please note that the home is not ADA accessible. There are no bedrooms or full bathrooms on the first floor. The home has 3 staircases inside and you must walk up a few steps to enter the home.

The head count for the home is based on 2 people sleeping in each of the 3 king beds, 2 people sleeping in each of 3 double beds. There is also a double bed pop-up sofa in the game room.

One bedroom on the 2nd floor with a king bed lacks privacy because it provides the only access in the home to the 3rd floor and the 2 bedrooms and full bathroom located there.

We require guests to submit a photo ID and a selfie within 48 hours of booking. A signed rental agreement is also required within 48 hours of booking.

The hot tub is available all year to guests. A $50 refund per day is issued if the hot tub does not work during your stay. No food or drink is permitted in the hot tub.

We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs with prior approval. Cats are not allowed. Dogs must be house-trained and flea-treated. Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. Pets may not be left unattended unless crated. Guests must clean up all pet waste (yard & interior). Excessive hair, odors, stains, or damage may result in additional cleaning or damage charges.

Unauthorized pets or violations of this policy may result in a $500 fee and/or cancellation of the stay. If you plan to bring a pet or service animal, you must discuss this with the host before your arrival and ideally immediately upon booking.

By booking, guests confirm they understand and agree to the pet policy and associated fees.
