"Beach area not cleaned"

"The housekeeping staff was great and every day our room was swept and mopped fresh made sheets & extra towels. When we arrive for check-in, the first thing I noticed my open my door was a cockroach. I called down to the front desk twice to get someone to come up and kill it and essentially get us a new room and the front desk girl was rude and laughed about it like it was insane that I couldn’t just kill it myself and stay in that room. I believe his name is Nigel at the front desk. He was very apologetic and got us a new room right away although I was so freaked out by how big the bug was we slept at the light on the rest of the week. The restaurant has good food and drink choices. However it takes easily 30 minutes to get a waiters attention outside to get a drink, I had to ask for a drink menu three times and get up and finally get one myself. I was disappointed to not know there wasn’t a hot tub there, but that was my fault when I looked booking. I thought the picture was a hot tub, but it turned out to be a kitty pool. The bartenders were nice and the rest of the hotel staff was friendly. I would definitely say the bathrooms need updated and most of the hotel, especially the restaurant. You could see bugs all over the windowsills and dust all over the blinds so that was kind of gross to look at while you’re eating. "

"Loved the location - could walk everywhere! Cons - the tv was very hard to work. And the Elevator was very slow. The trolley system in Clearwater was easy to navigate - and the beach was beautiful!"

"This hotel is scheduled to be demolished and replaced with a 180 room embassy suites property. Kind of on life support, the location is great, the rooms have balconies and face the beach, everything is mostly dated, couches stained and visibly dirty, the bathroom had mold in the tile grout and the exhaust fan was screaming for mercy ( I cleaned 15 yrs of dirt from it, that helped) Very little equipment in 1980 kitchen. Two spoons 2 butter knives, 1 sharp knife, no forks, frying pan, 2dented pots and a toaster 2 rusted burners ,fridge, no freezer and micro. The free breakfast is hit or miss, you can make it work, very basic. The pool is visited daily by hundreds of gulls to drink and bathe, gross. Why not some fishing line like every other hotel? Cause it would cost money. But the view and location is perfect, best u can say about it. Sofa doesn’t face tiny tv , not that you’d want to sit on it. a bigger tv in bed area. Room safe ( “oh, the white ones don’t work”) guess what rooms non refundable. Stay for this great location, the staff tries, very nice people , who must suffer numerous issues with ownership running this place into the ground. "

"The Pool area was nice. Room really need a make over. Floors were not too clean, very gritty. Air conditioner was very loud and right next to bed, therefore blew right on me. Not great amenities. Would not stay there again. "
