"We had a wonderful time at Treasures of Andros. From the moment we arrived, Mario was incredibly welcoming — he met us personally, gave us a tour of the cottage, and was very responsive when we needed a light for the gas stove one day. He also arranged transportation to and from Fresh Creek Airport, as well as a rental car, which made the whole trip much smoother. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable, and had all the basics we needed. Like others have mentioned, having our own washer and dryer was a big plus — we brought a couple of single-use detergent boxes from home, which worked out perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a different unit, which came with both a screened-in porch and an open-air deck — great to have options depending on the weather (and the sand flies!). Some of our favorite moments were spent sitting outside after sundown, stargazing under the clear Andros sky.The location was ideal for exploring both the north and south parts of the island. We went during a quieter season, so some places were closed, but we ended up enjoying several meals at Brigadier’s — generous portions, good drinks, and very friendly service. There's also a nearby convenience store that’s surprisingly well-stocked; in hindsight, we would have checked there first for basic groceries. All in all, a peaceful and well-located stay with great hospitality. Would definitely recommend!"
"We spent a week on Sunset point houseboat and already can’t wait to return! The house is exactly as described, an older house boat with lots of charm and amazing views from every bedroom. The snorkeling under the house is excellent. Ride the tides down to the shipwreck and explore all the fish swimming around in the big rusty steel hull and you will not be disappointed. You’re in very convenient distance to the airport and the town of fresh Creek. The hosts live right next-door behind trees, and they were helpful, but not intrusive at all. Keeping in touch by text was very easy if we had any questions. It was a great time chatting with them and hearing about the island — super cool couple. Peter is also an accomplished chef and made us the best anniversary meal. I highly recommend a meal from him during your stay.A few things to consider before booking this place, this is not a luxury accommodation, it is humble and comfortable and practical. Be sure to bring lots of bug repellent and sunscreen as it’s hard to come by them on the island. The a/c in the bedrooms is excellent, while you enjoy the breezes and multiple fans in the public areas. Every room has its own porch and they’re pretty private from each other. We saw tons of fish just watching with binoculars from the upper level. Unique! Also if you are a dog person, you will be in heaven because the owners have a very sweet dog, Honey who will hang out with you as much as you like. I cried when I had to hug her goodbye. "
"What a gem! We came to Andros in pursuit of bonefish and this property was the perfect jump off. The house truly exceeded our expectations in convenience, cleanliness, and amenities!
Noteables:
It was really nice to just go out back and swim after a long day of bonefishing.
Being able to wash your clothes allowed us to pack less clothes and more fishing gear.
An outside shower made it super easy to rinse down the equipment. We then let it all air dry in the screened porch.
Having a little convenience store and an excellent restaurant (Brigadiers) within walking distance made things easier.
Lastly, the host was so gracious and responsive throughout the entire process. When we had to make a flight change, she went above and beyond in helping us get it rebooked.
Looking forward to coming back and stay here again!"
Seaside Getaway - where peace and tranquility are plenty!
10/10 Excellent
"If so, then you have found the BEST place to do it. I have had the fortune to extensively travel to fish salty places and chase bonefish. Moreover, I have spent considerable time all over Andros, which I consider to be amongst the best bonefishing in the world. If you are adventurous and want the challenge of searching for these fish on your own, then this is the place to stay!Seaside Getaway is centrally located on North Andros (Stafford Creek), providing north/south access to many flats of the area. From fishing a killer flat right out your front door to venturing further (maybe to experience the fabled Westside fishing of Red bays), you can't go wrong choosing Seaside Getaway. Your options are endless and only bounded by a willingness to read the tides and put in time to explore. You will find your host, Santisha, to be super communicative and helpful for any of your needs. One of the great things about choosing to stay at Seaside Getaway is you can arrange to rent her vehicle for the duration of your stay. This makes it super easy to travel the Queens Highway in search of awesome flats, beautiful beaches and that special hidden bar for a refreshing Kalik. (I suggest you visit the local bar called The After Spot and get to know Brittany and her group of Stafford Queens...they are simply the best)If you want to experience the best of DIY bonefishing, then I highly recommend you book this hidden gem.
