"If you remember “the good old days” of the small family-run Italian small hotel, this will make you go right back to those lost days! Riccardo and his family are so wonderful. When I told him I was interested in the history of the region, he quickly told me 5 or 6 amazing tales from the distant past, as well as from his own lived experience. This is why we travel: to meet people like this! Did I mention this hotel is LOVELY with a fine attention to detail in all things? I wish I could’ve stayed...

Canneviè is a wonderful oasis in the Po Delta. Delightful hosts, great breakfasts, and a wonderful reprieve after seven days in large Italian cities. Our only problem, and not the hotel's fault at all, was being there at the beginning of March which was about three weeks before restaurants, wineries, and beach-side businesses opened for the season. Likewise, the nature trail that starts at the hotel was closed for repair. It's not far from Comacchio and lagoons. Highly recommended.

The Alberto Risto d'Italia was perfect for our first stay in the Po Delta region!
The servers in the restaurant, the hotel keepers, and all service people were absolutely wonderful! They welcomed us, took very good care of us, and fed us amply!

Found Principessa Pio on an Internet search of places in Ferrara. The photos looked great, but they frequently do, while the places often fail to live up to them. Not so in this case. The Pio has just a few rooms along with a restaurant in a recently renovated barn. The fit and finish are of a very high order with a minimal aesthetic throughout. Our room was spacious and relatively inexpensive. The restaurant is quite good and reasonable, and draws a number of people each evening. It is about a...

This hotel stands out from all the others I've stayed at. Its six rooms beautifully merge medieval character with modern style. If you visit Northern Italy, I strongly recommend it. The owner provides a personal welcome, and the property boasts lovely fruit trees and vines. The individually tailored breakfast is outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
