Great place to stay in the Coeur d’Alene area. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood with great views of the lake. Full kitchen, comfortable bed and well-equipped bathroom.
We enjoyed the many deer that visited the back lawn every morning.
We so enjoyed our stay at this place with a beautiful meadow out in front of the entrance where deer could be seen and beautiful views of the lake. Owners live upstairs and were very friendly and responsive when we reached out with a request but otherwise let us have our space to enjoy their beautiful spot!
Spent 5 nights at this haven. Peaceful, beautiful views and sunsets, loved watching the deer! and listening to the birds. Super comfy king bed! Absolutely relaxing. Definitely want to come back. Five + ⭐
We came for a wedding but stayed a few extra days for some rest and relaxation. This little place was perfect. The highlight of course was nightly visits from the deer. Bed was comfy. Clean. And the view was very nice. Especially sunset. The only thing that I would say (and I checked other reviews for this) was that you can hear the owners walking around and talking. But it wasn’t loud and it didn’t bother us. I would stay here again.
The perfect location just outside of town up on a hill overlooking the lake. Very quiet. We saw deer every morning and night. The unit was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The hosts were extremely responsive.
The home was lovely, quiet, relaxing and had everything possible that I needed. I loved the view of the lake and the grass to walk on to visit with the deer and birds.
If I come back this way again, I will most definitely be booking with Tony and Rhonda. :-)
We had a fantastic stay. The view was breathtaking, especially with the frequent visits from deer and wild turkeys in the yard. The walkout basement apartment was spacious, tidy, and modern, providing a comfortable living space. The owners were always quick to respond.
The property was clean, spacious, and had beautiful views. The owners were very accommodating and all the essentials were in the apartment. The only negatives were unreliable internet and the quarter mile of dusty road to the property. We enjoyed our stay and the space in the apt. for our golden retriever was great.
We were in town for a wedding which included several family gatherings in addition to the wedding ceremony and reception. This rental provided the perfect setting to unwind and relax between gatherings. The hosts live upstairs so they are nearby if you need anything. The place is so much larger than indicated by the pictures! It's super clean and has a large kitchen. Plenty of towels are included for the bathroom. The view of Lake Coeur d'Alene is spectacular. Also, the location is quiet, just outside busy Coeur d'Alene. We enjoyed this rental so much! Thank you!
We loved the spacious daylight basement accommodations with amazing views of Lake Coeur d'Alene from every window! Tony was welcoming and very helpful, available in minutes for any questions. And our pups loved the yard!

FABULOUS
This is one of nicest VRBOs we have stayed at. Very comfortable, roomy, and well stocked. The bed was great! We had everything we could possibly need. The owners were warm and welcoming! They were very kind and accessible yet gave us our privacy. The property and its views are spectacular! Deer and or Elk were seen nightly. There were also occasional Barkley sightings - one of the sweetest yellow dogs around! The location is convenient to downtown with all the restaurants and shops. We highly recommend a stay at Sha Ka Ree if visiting Coeur d' Alene!

Great property and perfect setting.
My sister and I stayed here while we vacationed in the Coeur D'Alene area. It was a perfect place for comfort and peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was a very short drive but still felt rural. Loved all the amentities and they included anything you could ask for.The host was great and we really enjoyed the resident lab Barkley. Highly recommend it to make your visit to the area perfect. We were fortunate to see young deer cross the property on our last morning which was a fun end to our stay.

Incredible View, Better People
We were able to rent and stay here for an extended period - much longer than an average vacation rental so our impression was built over weeks, not a weekend. It was also our first rental of this type and we were literally on the road as we navigated the rental process. So first, kudos to the site for making it possible to easily search and sift through options!
We were very impressed by our time here. Being new to the process, the owners took the time (via email) to explain the process, answer our questions, and make us feel comfortable about renting and staying in their home. The rental includes the entire, spacious downstairs with breathtaking views of Lake Coeur d'Alene - so be warned, you may want to stay forever. The rental area is very private, quiet, and looks over a landscaped and forested hillside onto the lake and the resort giving you the sensation of rest and seclusion but it is a quick (less than 10 minute) and quiet drive to downtown.
The full kitchen was perfect was for us and we made daily use of the private patio. Everything is clean and the furnishings are quality and stylish - nothing like being in a hotel room! They do include local information about things to see and do in the area as well - and also have tips and "locals only" information they are more than willing to share. And did I mention the view yet? If I didn't you should know it is just amazing.
As nice as the home is - and it is very, very nice - I have to point out the best part of the experience was really the hosts. They are friendly people who really care about their guests and want to ensure you are comfortable and enjoy their home. They truly open a part of their home and lives to their guests and make you feel like a part of the family. You will know from the outset that they care about you. A wonderful weeks-long stay at this property was far better than we can adequately describe. The property and more importantly the owners are five star in every way!
Highly recommended!

Wonderful place to stay; Lovely area!
We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary in this very scenic private house. When we arrived, Tony showed us the beautiful place with an amazing view of the lake. He pointed out the patio and the things that go with it that we could enjoy. He gave us a short tour of the spacious accommodation with a nicely furnished living room, a big full kitchen next to the laundry room, a comfortable cozy bedroom, and a nice clean bathroom. The fruit in the kitchen and the Idaho chocolate bars added a special welcoming touch. The Wi-Fi internet connection in the property is not always on, so be sure to call and ask Tony to turn it on if you need access to the internet. Tony and Rhonda are gracious, hospitable, and accommodating. We recommend this lovely, quiet and secluded getaway (yet close to hiking trails, restaurants, shops, and parks) and all it has to offer for a relaxing and comfortable home away from home.

Beautiful view of the lake and quiet location!!
From the moment we arrived at this vacation rental, we were greeted by the owners and their dog, Barkley. They made us feel very welcome and even left us fresh fruit in the kitchen. Their property sits above Lake Coeur d' Alene and is surrounded by trees, wild animals come through the yard such as deer and elk and it is amazingly quiet. The amenities are very nice including a large selection of movies, full size kitchen and laundry and the bed is extremely comfortable. The owners are very quiet and there were many times we didn't even realize they were home. It is about a 10 minute drive to downtown CDA and there are businesses close by such as a gas station, redbox movie rental, restaurants and a couple pubs to name a few.
If you have any issues with mobility or walking down stairs, this might not be suitable as you have to go down some outdoor steps to get to the rental unit. Besides that, it is worth the trip and I would stay here again. Thank you for the wonderful stay at Shakaree!!

Foothills to the lake- it's all there to enjoy!
This is a perfect getaway home for active couples and doggies. Tony and Rhonda are super nice hosts that
strive to make your stay enjoyable. Home is awesome quiet location while still being remote. I like to cook and everything was available in the kitchen for serving meals. Only suggestion I'd have to to have a tiered price system for renting multiple nites. The longer the stay would reduce the total cost. Thanks much.

Great hosts. Great location. Great place.
Tony and Rhonda greeted us at the door. They are wonderful hosts. If you want a great, quiet, beautiful place to stay with truly wonderful views just five minutes from the hustle of downtown CDA, this is the place. We will definitely be back!
