Stunning Mountaintop Home Minutes from Boat Launch

Come get away from it all at this modern, well-furnished new mountain cabin. Experience living high on a mountain overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene, Mica Bay and the historic Cd’A Mountains of North Idaho. Driving the two miles of private road to this retreat, you will experience the peace and quiet of forest living while you fill your lungs with the fresh mountain air. The whisper you hear is the wind in the pine and fir trees that surround this comfortable hideaway. Although you are only eight short highway miles from all of the restaurants and amenities of charming downtown Cd’A, the simplicity and solitude of a mountain home will be yours.

Nearby you will find something for everyone. As well as the public golf courses available to you in Cd’A, within a 15 mile drive south you can golf at renowned Circling Raven Golf Course and Casino (owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe). Two private golf courses are also within 10 miles (Black Rock Golf Course and CDA National Reserve). The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes paved bike path, just 20 minutes away, leads you to a ride across the paved trestle at Chatcolet, and the charms of the lakeside town of Harrison. Conveniently located for boaters and lake lovers, this cabin is four miles from a public boat launch and access to all of Lake Coeur d’Alene’s fishing and water sports. There is also private and secure parking for your boat near this cabin.

BEDROOMS AND BATHS: This home has two comfortable bedrooms with plenty of natural light and beautiful mountain views. The master suite upstairs has a comfortable queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower. The second bedroom on the main level has a queen bed and two large windows that catch the cross breezes, and extra mountain views. Just around the corner from the second bedroom is a full bathroom with a second walk-in shower.

INDOOR LIVING: The modern kitchen has every amenity, from top of the line appliances and granite countertops to a large variety of cookware and dishes you’ll need to prepare those special meals. Included is a microwave, convection oven, large refrigerator, dishwasher, large deep sink, coffee maker, blender and toaster. A glass-topped dining table for four is perfect for sharing laughter and the stories of your day’s experiences. Comfortable seating, a gas fireplace and a large flat screen TV make the end of your day cozy and warm.

The cabin is amazing! We loved sitting out on Deck and watching the sunrise and sunset. Everything we needed was provided at the cabin. We loved being close enough to the lake and city and far enough away that we are up in the mountains. The views are gorgeous!

This property was one of the best we've stayed at in our travels. Everything in the house was clean, high end, and good quality, making our stay enjoyable. We even ended up cooking many meals there instead of going out because it was so relaxing. This cabin was only 15 minutes away from the city and the lake, but felt far removed and quiet. We would like to come back someday.

Our experience here was quite good--the cabin was in a peaceful wooded setting with beautiful views over the valley floor below. It was cozy w/o being cramped, well appointed, well maintained. Generally very comfortable; the beds did let us down just a bit, the mattresses were fine but we're spoiled by our king-size at home.

This cabin is immaculate and beautiful. The view is majestic. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with mother nature, this is the place. The drive up to the cabin is on a single lane road with crazy switchbacks - you never know when you might come face to face with an elk.

The property was set only two miles off of the highway but a thousand feet above lake Coeur d’ Alene. So, access to town was easy and it was quiet and serene. The wrap around deck provided both views of the lake and views of the wooded nature surrounding the cabin. The facility was clean, comfortable and decked out with luxurious amenities.

Excellent location if you want to escape from town. Located at the top of a mountain, this is a beautiful and comfortable cabin. So relaxing to drink coffee on the deck looking out at the view. The sunrises were fabulous! We met the owner and he answered all of our questions about Coeur d'Alene. Hoping to return and enjoy another week.

Absolutely wonderful home and stunning location! House was beautifully appointed and cared for, and had comfortable beds and linens. The porch was our favorite place to be, both early morning and again in the evening after our outings. We loved this home!! My only suggestion would be to find a way to cool the upstairs master bedroom better, as it was much warmer up there than downstairs, even with the AC pushed down to 65 at night. (Temps were around 90 outside during the day) Downstairs was very cool and comfortable. Will definitely stay again if we are back in the area!

We had everything we needed and then some! It was so easy to just relax and take it in. Very clean and well appointed home! WiFi was a little slow but we managed. Cooked our own meals, watched a lot of TV and enjoyed the people we were with. Owner is very personable and attentive to any need you might have. No mistake in making this booking. We accidentally discovered that Buck knives are made here and that was a fun visit. Nice people there! Would love to stay here again!

My husband and I rented this cabin and it was fantastic. It had all the kitchen items that we needed, washer/dryer, lots of towels, two lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and the million dollar view with a large and beautiful patio, where I spent hours!! The photos are exactly how the rental looks. We loved being away from a lot of people in our own slice of heaven, looking at the best view in the area! After watching for wildlife for several days, we finally were able to see a mama moose with her two babies as we left the property. So cool!

This was by far my favorite VRBO. Make sure you follow the directions to cabin once you are on Sausser Dr or you might think you passed the drive. The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we needed. We loved being in the cabin so much we ate breakfast and dinner there everyday. Sitting on the huge wrap around porch was my absolute favorite. The pictures do not do the view justice. It actually got to 100 degrees while we were there and never got hot sleeping upstairs as mentioned in another review. Close enough to town to get whatever you need but far enough that you get the in the woods feel. Met the homeowners while they were out walking. Very sweet and helpful couple. Will absolutely stay here again.

Loved the property. Can't beat the wrap-around deck and the views. The unit itself was great as well as far as quiet, comfort, finishes and decor. Needed to unwind and rest and this was the perfect place for that.

This beautiful mountaintop home is even better than the pictures! The home was immaculately clean and had all the amenities to make it feel like our home away from home. We enjoyed the breathtaking views from the deck, especially the gorgeous sunrises. The location was secluded, restful and quiet but close enough to downtown Coeur d’Alene to make it extremely convenient. Wally and Dawn are gracious hosts and we hope to visit this fabulous home again.

After the smoke from the fires cleared out the views of the lake, forest and sky were as advertised, even impressive at times. We have a great picture of a sunrise. We had moose pass the house on two mornings and were visited by a deer on another. A flock of wild turkey also inhabit the area. We enjoyed our stay with access to Couer d'Alene, Sandpoint, Wallace and Spokane.

I’ve stayed in numerous VRBO’s, AB&B’s, cabins, etc. and on many, many occasions, I’ve found serious discrepancies between online reviews and the actual property. I understand that we want to be nice, especially if we’ve met the property owners but this doesn’t help future guests choose the best property for their stay. It also doesn’t help the property owners improve their property which would result in repeat business and more profit. I’m as guilty of this as anyone and I say this because this property is truly worthy of glowing, 5-star reviews! It actually exceeded our family’s expectations, which isn’t easy to do. The owners are so kind and attentive and the home is immaculate, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable with high-end appliances, great water pressure and everything else anyone could want. I don’t want to say too much because I think it’s best that you discover this jewel and all it has to offer for yourself. I will say that the images online don’t do it justice. It’s much nicer and way more beautiful than pics can show. We can’t wait to come back each year and we’ll definitely be booking this again!
