"The property was in a great location to explore the D-Day landing beaches and the Normandy area (we had a rental car). It was near a huge grocery store and the suite was equipped with everything you’d need to make stove top and microwave meals, with plenty of kitchenware, utensils, as well as a drip coffee maker. The host was away during our 6 night stay but had a neighbour on standby and was readily available to communicate with us and even sent a nice message to say he hopes we made it in and have settled into the place on our first night there. We felt like staying here gave us the experience of living a more local-like lifestyle, since the suite was so well-equipped and in a home in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The only downside (unrelated to the place or host) is that the booking platform doesn’t allow the hosts to alter dates according to people’s changing itineraries without cancelling and re-booking entirely; we chose to pay for the cost of a night we didn’t stay for instead of re-booking for 6 nights instead of the original 7 nights, since apparently the cost of the property had gone up in cost since we first booked it and it seemed like a hassle to re-book entirely. On our last day the host did offer us the option to check out as late as we wanted, which was really nice. It was also great to see that the host is diligent about recycling; we had instructions to put our recycling in a big plastic bag while there. Thank you for sharing your home with us Roger!"
