Decent value hotel

Good location, not quite as central as the Ibis Koeln Hbf but still very convenient with the university nearby as well as tram stop Barbarossaplatz and rail stop Köln Süd. You can get decent deals here when the Ibis Koeln Hbf hotel is sold out. Interior design is the new Ibis design launched in the 2010s so it has been refurbed not long ago. But very hot rooms in the summer though, it seems aircon is only available in parts of the hotel. Also, tiny bathrooms.

Everything was great. The hotel is 10 minutes from the main station and the old town. Check-in was quick and easy. The staff was friendly. I can recommend it for a shorter wtay.

The hotel is good, very clean, excellent location, there’s a laundry crossing the street. The staff is great, very helpful. Room was way too small, bathroom was smaller than an airplane bathroom, I should’ve booked a bigger room.

The hotel staff allowed us to leave our bags in a secure room from early morning prior to check in snd again for a few hours following check out. This proved to be very helpful. The room was small. The bathroom very small- but adequate. Only 1 towel per person - no hand towels. Only 1 pillow per bed!

Good location!

I’ve stayed in many an Ibis over the years and I’m always more bothered about location, this one is five stops from HBF/Dom and the immediate area has Lidl and Rewe supermarkets plus plenty of food and bar options around. Room was fine, not the biggest and small bathroom but ok for my needs and at €50 a night, what you’d expect!

I got there before 3pm, at around 12:15 or 12:30pm, and the staff very nicely told me that unfortunately there weren't any rooms available. However, I waited only 20 minutes, and the front desk immediately told me a room was ready and I was able to put my stuff down before heading over the the Gamescom convention center. The room was spacious and clean, enjoyed my stay there

Area around the hotel is a bit downtrodden, but you likely aren't staying here for that! A short walk to some better areas of town. The hotel is perfectly acceptable as you might imagine if you have stayed in a business hotel before.

The staff were super nice, and genuinely helpful. The hotel manager was very friendly and personable. The bathrooms are really small and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choices. The location is really accessible and close to many places to eat and walk around. I will stay in this property all over again if I go back to Koeln.
