You couldn’t ask for a better option during the holiday market season! This location is ON TOP of the action with easy walk / transport to all else. Staff is super friendly (the dogs are too!) Loved and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!

Great location on the square just back from the river and close to the cathedral but the hotel and rooms could do with an upgrade. Restaurant in the hotel was very good indeed and a great breakfast

Great location with some updates

The hotel is in a great location for the Christmas markets. It's above a restaurant, which is where breakfast is served. Our room has a magnificent view of the market, and it had an updated bathroom. The bed and linens were comfortable and pristine. The hotel overall feels a little dated, but part of that is the sparse decoration. I needed ice for a cooler which the restaurant downstairs kindly provided. I tried to order a beer to bring back to the room from the restaurant, but that wasn't an option.

I really wanted to avoid writing this review based on the lovely experience with the staff at the hotel. It was affordable and last minute for a big family. The rooms need a deep clean. The bathroom I had flooded. There were mosquitoes in the room and I woke up with bites on my face. The person doing check out was super nice and they also had their beautiful dog, who was also very friendly.

Check-in kiosk was took many steps to use, and it did not end up working. Going upstairs to reception there was no one there. Tried calling and someone hung up on me. Waited about 20 minutes for someone to come and check me in- told I needed to use kiosk that didn't work. Once finally checked in, room was fine. Lots of noise from outside due to construction for Cologne pride and being on a main street. Again for check-out, had to use the kiosk, which said there was no record of my reservation. Was in a hurry so just left key in the box. Really need to fix the kiosk system and have someone available at the reception. Hotel room itself was fine and clean, with gummy bears on the pillow, which was a cute touch.

Good hotel for a brief stay. The hotel itself in on 2-4ths floors of the building; the first floor is a very busy restaurant... Great things: - they let me check in early - despite having the restaurant of the first floor, the rooms are quiet... Areas for improvement: - no air conditioning/thermostate in the rooms; I needed to keep the windows open to lower the room temp - stair case is carpeted, but the carpet in dirty - the access card to the building does not work at night; i and another customer had to bang on the door and the windows for at least 10 min before someone came to open the door. The reception is not staffed at night... - shower is a sad story... They use 40 cm glass panel to shied the water, which still pours on the floor in the common bathroom area... So, I literally had to mop the floors every single time I would use the shower... Please make it more practical... - no safeboxes in the rooms for any valuables... They claimed that the the hotel is safe, but with the restaurant guests going back and worths, I feel in needed the safe...

This was a perfect place to stay the night while enjoying the city's many different christmas markets. It is perfectly situated beside one of the markets which made it easy for us to take a break in our room, use the washroom and drop off packages. This simple little hotel had everything we needed for a night in Cologne.
