2BR Pikes Peak View and Nestled in the Trees

Summary:
Beautiful Pikes Peak views and nestled amongst the Evergreens and Aspens, this 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom completely remodeled cottage will capture your heart and hold it forever in the mountains. This home has beautiful and modern updates while still maintaining its novel charm with beamed ceilings, original wood floors and lead glass windows.

The Space:
Located in the heart of Woodland Park, you are minutes to national forest, an abundance of hiking trails, Charis Bible College, and nearly every convenience you need to enjoy your time in the mountains.

You’ll love pulling up to this quaint cottage that has the feel of being deep in the forest with its white stone driveway, aspen trees blowing in the wind and the beautiful look of the woodsy home, yet it is walking distance to Woodland Park and just 20 minutes to Manitou Springs.

Inside, the kitchen has been renovated with new countertops and stainless steel appliances which are complemented by the rustic pine cabinets and geode rock backsplash. And of course, the kitchen is completely stocked with all the conveniences you need to prepare a wonderful meal you can enjoy while taking in the breathtaking views of Pikes Peak on the outdoor patio set or just relaxing in the dining area while you kick off your shoes and enjoy the peace and quiet of this quaint mountain town.

Take a stroll into the living room and relax on the oversized sectional sofa with lots of throw pillows and cozy blankets and a wall mounted flat screen TV! You will love the hand placed moss rock fireplace, bookended by two multi pane original lead glass windows and grounded with original hard wood floor, which all come together to complete the feel of this mountain home living space. And while you are relaxing on the sofa, take a ‘sneak peek’ at the sun porch through the original window panes between the living room and enclosed porch.

The sun porch is the perfect place for your evening glass of wine, quiet conversations or family game night as you enjoy the electric fireplace, cozy furnishings and the stunning views from the 3 walls of windows! You can even walk outside from the sun porch to enjoy the stunning view of the setting sun over Pikes Peak.

The Master Bedroom is spacious and bright! And, in keeping with the theme of the home, it has lovely, treed views, a bright open feel, and you can even get a glimpse of Pikes Peak! Again, you will find charming window frames, rustic antique décor and complete comfort! The Queen bed has a thick mattress pad, comfy duvet, quilt and 6 pillows with plenty of extra blankets to keep you warm and cozy!

Off the other side of the Living Room, French doors open into a wing of the house that includes a spacious second bedroom, a reading room and another ¾ bathroom. The bedroom is furnished with one queen bed, a large closet, dresser, and its own TV. A skylight adds to the bright feel of the room and proves to be the perfect stargazing nook at night!

Just outside the bedroom, you’ll find a reading room with the oversized chair of your dreams. We dare you not to sigh when you sink into it! This room can double as a home office or playroom while you are enjoying your stay. There are two twin cots available for your use!

Attached to the reading room is a second ¾ bathroom with a tile surround shower, large vanity and plenty of space to get ready for your day in the mountains.

The home also features a spacious laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, and iron and ironing board for your convenience. This room is so big it can also hold any extras you may have brought with you on your trip!

Wren’s nest is the epitome of a quaint mountain cottage but one of the best features is the yard. In the front, you will find a new flagstone patio complete with 2 chaise that overlook Pikes Peak and an outdoor dining table. And, if you venture into the fully fenced backyard you will be astounded at the space. You will find a second flagstone patio, and plenty of room for games, playing and enjoying the mountain air. The birds will be chirping the sun shining and the leaves rustling. You may never want to go inside!

The Neighborhood:
Visitors to the region love to stay in Woodland Park, and with good reason. It’s ideally located at the junction of Highways 24 and 67, taking you everywhere you’ll want to go. Lovers of the outdoors will find themselves in paradise, literally surrounded by trails, canyons, falls, parks and lakes. Opportunities abound for hiking, biking, skiing, hunting, fishing, ziplining, and more – and most within a 30-minute drive or less.

This is beautiful country and there’s a lot to see, but visitors find two spots particularly awe-inspiring: the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, where dramatic sandstone rock formations stand 300 feet tall (20 minutes) and Pikes Peak, a/k/a “America’s Mountain,” providing unforgettable views at 14,115 feet (1 hour, 5 minutes).

Kids of all ages love Woodland Park because it’s home to the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, a museum with an on-site lab (4 minutes). Woodland Park is also a regional commercial hub with plenty of shopping and casual dining. Forgot to pack something? You won’t have to go far to replace it.

Speaking of shopping and dining, you’ll love the hip offerings of Colorado Springs. Just 30 minutes away, Colorado Springs will delight you with its unique boutiques, award-winning restaurants, breweries and lounges, as well as cultural treats like museums, art galleries and theaters. There’s something for everyone!

Cute, updated older home in Woodland Park
We enjoyed our stay here while visiting family in the area. The kitchen is remodeled and was nicely equipped. The appliances were all newer and very nice. Laundry room was huge. Beds were comfy. There were plenty of towels for the bathroom and hot tub. Plenty of pillows and extra blankets as well! For an older, smaller home, the living room was really spacious and there was an additional sunny sitting room with a gas fireplace. Most of the floors are older, original-looking wood floors which I love. Plenty of rugs in every room. We enjoyed walking to the park every day (just be careful of ice on the roads in the wintertime). Communication was excellent with Hoste. Check-in was simple and hassle-free.

LIPSTICK ON A PIC
Looks lovely online, And it is cute at first appearance, also the price was inviting. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. First off all, Hoste, the management company is the worst! They are in some other country and every time you call you get a different person. I had to call several times because of problems with the rental, including no WiFi, spiders and other bugs, hot tub not working (doesn’t get hot), etc!! All I got was the runaround. Also the RV in the driveway that I thought was a guest’s belongs to the owner, who apparently spies on you because they knew things no one else would know if they weren’t watching. Tons of other problems and issues. This is an old house that they slapped a coat of paint on to put on VRBO, but didn’t do a lot else. It’s very cold, oh and check under the sofa cushions and places you wouldn’t notice immediately. It’s FILTHY. Something bit me in the bed! Spend a little more money and find another place!!! I also got very sick with Covid there. Doubt it will be disinfected.

A little bit of heaven and character
We loved this place. The floor plan is so nice with sitting rooms on each side of property. Kitchen well supplied even with some dry goods and coffee. This property is perfect for two adults couples with a couple visitors or children. A couple more clear communication ( I.e. posted directions) for heat and trash is needed. Also make clear yo your visitors there is no access to small hot tub. Definitely will stay here again when in the area. Convenient to everything.

Adorable Home !!!
We so enjoyed our stay in this cute home. Everything was just as advertised, the home actually feels larger than described. Bedrooms on opposite of the home giving lots of privacy, for each guest. Beds were so comfortable with comfy sheets, everything appears to be New from the Towels to the sheets and Furniture. Kitchen had everything we needed. The backyard is large and fenced in for privacy, it also has a table and 4 chairs with a umbrella and Hot Tub. Very cozy living room with a nice large pit couch. The only negative thing I can say is the Living Room floor is squeaky, other then that this house is such a great find. Close to town, great location overall and a nice quiet neighborhood. Hope to return again.

Property was very nice and in great shape. Located in a very scenic neighborhood. I was a little disappointed because the listing had pictures of a second bedroom with two twin beds and when we arrived, that room only had a single queen bed. By Woodland Park standards, the weather was very warm during our stay. The only downside is that there was no air conditioning, however, there were plenty of fans which made it comfortable. During our stay, there were several mornings when we were visited by mule deer wandering through the property. This is quite an exciting experience for my kids.

Property management fell short numerous occasions in a 7 night period.
The cottage was very cozy however poorly cleaned. The microwave had spattered dried on food from previous renters and there was urine turned to jelly form on the base of the toilet. The property management team assured us they have an outstanding cleaning team.I completely beg to differ. There were spiderwebs in the corners of windows, at eye level by the main entrance, full of dead bugs. There was a baby's pacifier under throw pillows on the sofa, a pair of brand new earings in-between the cushions of the lounging chair, a baby sock behind the dresser full of dust and cobwebs, a nasty hand towel behind the nightstand covered in dust and webs(appeared to have been there for months), dirty clothing between the couch and the wall, thick dust on the ceiling fan blades, thick dust on the baseboards and chair rail, ect... ect.If there cleaning crew did such a great job I would hate to see what they consider a bad job.We checked in late Monday evening.Upon retiring to the queen room with the tv, ran into problems with the remote not working.Slept on the couch so we could wind down watching tv. Tuesday morning contacted PM and a gal said she wasnt even familiar with a guest room tv, odd the listing clearly states there is one.It took them 2 days before they got someone out there to fix the issue. And they did not communicate with us during that time so we ended staying a a hotel the third night to relax in bed while watching tv.Trash day is Friday, all fine and dandy until we realized we were responsible to haul out 2 dumpsters completely full to the top.No way on God's green earth those filled up 2 prior to our Monday check-in.Needless to say our half bag of trash didnt go out for their scheduled pickup because the completely full dumpsters were not our responsibility. The PM team has too many people claiming to be in charge and actually not enough boots on the ground.I sat in the hot tub once our first morning, went to sit in it again few days later and it was only 40 some degrees even though I had set it at 104.Reset the temp at 104, went to set in it the following day and again it was in the 40's. That sucked.PM said they would help me trouble shoot it at that point I gave up!!!We asked for a partial refund because of everything, they offered 35$ hot tub fee, we had the bank resolve the issue and they ended up refunding 100%. Im ready to go back to North Captiva Island Fla, they have outstanding property management down there

Great location
The location was great for hiking access around Woodland Park! We walked to the Hungry Bear for breakfast. It was quick and easy. We saw deer along the way, in fact we saw deer every morning. We had a short drive to Mueller Park for more hiking. Drove to Cripple Creek to watch the play. The only issues were lack of communication for how to dispose of trash, the property managers responded quickly but the check in details did not match what we were told. In fact, I am used to a book to guide you through all of the basic questions for the property and this property did not have one. Also, when I arrived the hot tub was at 65 degrees, and I was told it would take 6 hours for the hot tub to heat up but it took 24 hours to get up to 100 degrees. Hot tub was great once it was hot. The sinks, showers, and toilets were all clean, however the floors still had pine needles, oven mitts were dirty, the bottom sheet had stains, the couch cushions were not turned correctly and when I turned them, under the cushions were not clean. Overall this is a good property it just needs a little TLC.
