Cabin in the Pines, Artfully Renovated - Great Views - Quaint Green Mtn Falls...

Cabin has a gourmet kitchen (soapstone countertops/farm sink, induction cooktop), wide plank oak floors, and art/woodwork/metal sculpture/stained glass from local artisans. Renovations completed in 2016, with all new appliances (including washer/dryer combo unit), and new furniture. Gas fireplace and antique lighting. Free WiFi, Cable TV with loads of channels, DVR, and Netflix. Sleeps a MAXIMUM of four: king bed and sky light for star gazing in master, two twin xl that can be converted to king in 2nd BR upon request. Enjoy the fabulous views and garden from the pine tree shaded deck or the intimate covered patio out back.

A local craftsman, Dale White, did an amazing transformation, using beetle kill pine (blue stain) on the ceilings and built-ins. The home is only 750 square feet, but it feels much larger with the vaulted ceilings, open floor plan, and various built-ins. The cabinets are quarter sawn oak, and the kitchen table base is from an old boiler. The bathroom vanity is made from ancient bristlecone pine, with a soapstone sink/counter. I feel like the cabin itself is art, and I love being in it. I hope you will too.

Cabin is blocks from hiking trails, swimming pool, Green Mtn Falls lake, and restaurants. Green Mountain Falls is a quaint and quiet town. This cabin is a serene home base for touring the Air Force Academy, The Broadmoor, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, and many more of the nearby sites. The Pikes Peak region is a wonderful place for fishing, biking, and hiking. It's a dreamy place. Come and stay!

Wonderful Stay in GMF

Lisa’s property was a dream come true! She has made a home away from home. Cabin in the Pines is complete with most everything a traveler could need (including a freshly baked homemade pie upon arrival). The location has an incredible view and is in walking distance to hiking trails, dining, and shopping. Our family of four had an incredible summer stay and are hoping to book something again soon!

Beautiful, peaceful getaway

The cabin is gorgeous and so relaxing with a great location close enough to get to area activities while still feeling remote. Exactly as advertised, would definitely stay here again!

What a place!

As much as it would be wonderful to keep this a best kept secret so we can always go back, but it would be unfair to keep this from others! It was an incredible place to stay, beautiful cabin, beautiful setting, absolutely fantastic host in Lisa and so many great things to do in the area.

Great cabin

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin and hope to return. In addition to the baked goods mentioned in the other reviews, we particularly enjoyed wathing the short storms that appeared every day at 4pm and the daily deer in the back yard.

Best VRBO experience!

Everything about this property and my stay was perfect. From the welcome pie (homemade apple!) to the house manual which is comprehensive and extremely helpful; from the view to the linens, my experience was top notch! I’ve been coming to GMF all my life, so on this trip I wanted to unplug, relax, and renew my soul. That’s exactly what I did! Without exception, this is the best equipped VRBO property I’ve ever stayed in. Lisa has thought of everything! If you sit on the deck and are very quiet, you can hear the one trees sing. It’s amazing.

Exactly what we were looking for!

My kids wanted to see mountains and this cabin was in a perfect location to see mountains right out the front door! Lisa thought of everything and was so welcoming. She truly cares for her guests and it shows by all the little touches throughout it the cabin.

Lisa is so kind and has put such care into the cabin. Nothing felt worn or more used in the year since we last visited - everything is pristine and homey. The view cannot be beat. We’re so thankful to Lisa and expect this trip to continue to be a family tradition!

A Wonderful Place!

Cabin in the Pines is absolutely lovely! The view from the front porch is beautiful! Every part of the cabin is thoughtfully and artfully designed to meet any needs you might have. Lisa, the host, is easy to reach and communicate with. We loved our time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Green Mountain Falls and this cabin provides a nice, quiet retreat that's an easy 15 to 20 minute drive from all the main attractions.

Perfect family getaway

This is such a special place. Honestly the best rental we have ever stayed at. It’s clean, fully stocked, and is managed by the best host. Lisa was amazing. We all adored her but my daughter just loved her. The location is great for Manitou, Colorado Springs, or just hiking or staying at the cabin. Thank you again Lisa. Perfect family getaway

This is a charming cabin for a small family like ours. We loved the natural wood all throughout the structure and furnishings. The cabin perfectly blends with its picturesque surroundings. Cabin in the Woods was a wonderful addition to our Colorado vacation and the host added many small conveniences that made traveling with kids easier. We highly recommend.

Amazing Cabin in the Mountains

My family had an amazing time at Lisa’s cabin. We had everything we could have possibly need or anything we may have forgotten to bring. The quality of the craftsmanship that was used when the cabin was renovated is impeccable. We would definitely come back to the cabin in the pines and green mountain falls.

Cabin in the Pines-Best stay Ever!!

The Cabin in the Pines was such a great location to celebrate an anniversary. The cabin itself is beautiful, super clean & had everything in it that we could possibly need…..but the star to this little cabin is Lisa the host-she is a dream! After getting to know Lisa-this cabin is an extension of her-she made us feel right at home the moment we stepped over the threshold-the fresh, homemade apple pie waiting for us with a note hoping we had a great anniversary….She left very good details on local places to eat & sights to see. We will definitely return to Lisa’s cabin! By far - this was the best VRBO experience we have ever had.

One of my favorite vacation rentals ever!

What a wonderful place! If I could give Lisa 10 stars I would! As someone who owns a short term rental, I really appreciate the extra steps Lisa put in to make our stay wonderful! We reached out to her very last minute due to needing to find a new place to stay after our previous rental was awful and not as pictured. Lisa quickly responded and was able to accommodate our last minute request for my family and I! Upon arriving she had a delicious apple pie waiting for us! Her cabin is absolutely AMAZING and I couldn’t love it more! We appreciate all of the kind hospitality and can’t wait to go back! Thank you SO much, Lisa!

An absolute *dream*

Everything about The Cabin in the Pines surpassed my expectations. It was beautiful, comfortable, cozy, convenient, and completely relaxing to be in. The house itself was one thing, and then the town of Green Mountain Falls was more charming than we could have imagined. And then Lisa—she sets a new high bar for hospitality. The best cabin, town, and host you can imagine! Highly recommend for families with small children (or without!).

GMF Rocks!

This is a wonderful property! I can’t say enough good things about the property and the hostess! Absolutely over the top. The warm apple pie upon our arrival and then the peach rhubarb turnovers when we were getting ready to leave were to die for! The view from the front deck was amazing. We would definitely go back again and again. The cleanliness of the cabin and the total attention to detail were the best we have seen in a rental.

Fresh Baked Fun!

Our stay at the Cabin in the Pines was absolutely FANTASTIC! My son and I flew into Colorado Springs for an unplanned, long weekend getaway, and Lisa was able to accommodate us at the last minute. She answered my message inquiring about her property ASAP and stayed in touch with us for the rest of our stay. The cabin is beautiful, and Lisa has thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay comfortable, fun, and stress-free. I was in the tourism and hospitality industry for many years, so I have pretty high expectations when it comes to my accommodations, and the Cabin in the Pines definitely surpassed those expectations by a mountain mile! I would love to stay here again and show it off to the rest of my family someday. My 11 year old son was in complete awe of the entire cabin and the surrounding scenery as well. We had so much fun together in C-Springs and the surrounding areas, and Lisa's cabin was a HUGE part of that fun. Thank you for everything, Lisa!

We didn't want to leave!

This is a rustic cabin that has been beautifully restored with every modern convenience. It was the perfect size for our little family of 4 and never felt cramped because of the thoughtful use of space. Lisa is an amazing host who anticipated our every need... she even put out toys for our kids and asked if we would need a high chair! Our kids loved the toys, games, and books in the cabin, and they had fun collecting pine cones. My husband and I loved the quiet little mountain town and enjoyed a glass of wine under the moon, stars and pine trees on the front deck. We were close enough to Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, etc. that we could leave the cabin to explore, come back so the little one could take his nap, then go out again in the late afternoon. Lisa checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed, but she was never intrusive. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Lisa!

Serendipity 2020

This 2020 vacation was truly a last minute decision bcz of COVID and we benefited immensely from a cancellation. Cabin in the Pines was one of our favorites out of our 13 years renting with VRBO. It is extremely evident that Lisa has found her passion in hospitality. The extra special attention to detail and comfort. The cabin is beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and high end appliances. Everything you will need and more. Even though we had very hot July weather during the day our nights were very cool and comfortable for sleeping with the windows open. I have to mention the quality of the drinking water from the faucet...... amazing! We typically are a filtered water family but we tried it and couldn’t get enough of Colorado water!! Cabin in the Pines is situated in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to access to many restaurants, activities and excursions. Thank you Lisa for all of your special treats and kind conversations.

Best Host for a Family Vacation!

Our Colorado vacation kicked off with an absolutely amazing stay! Lisa is an incredible host, and her property was truly exceptional. From the moment we booked, Lisa provided outstanding communication, and to our delight, she even left us the best apple pie I've ever tasted. The crust was perfectly flaky, and the sweet, delicious filling made our trip even more special.Beyond the delicious treats, Lisa's place is fully stocked, allowing us to easily grill up steaks for an amazing meal. The property is also spotlessly clean, and the view from the front porch provided the most relaxing and peaceful setting for our morning coffee. The location was ideal, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown while still being conveniently close to all the attractions Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs have to offer.Thank you Lisa for an amazing stay.
