The Space:

The main living room features a vintage grand piano and a stove set inside a rustic stone hearth, all beneath vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. Vintage wood furniture, eclectic lighting, and curated décor create a space that feels both inviting and expressive. A built-in bookshelf with ladder adds a touch of whimsy, while multiple cozy corners offer room to read, relax, or play games. A record player with a handpicked vinyl collection matches the home’s nostalgic charm, and a classic telescope invites quiet stargazing on clear mountain nights.

The home includes three full bathrooms, each with a comfortable, well-appointed feel. The main bathroom features a jetted tub—great for a quiet soak at the end of the day—and another offers a classic tub with vintage details and warm lighting. Please note: the third bathroom has the home's only standing shower, so guests who prefer showering will want to plan around that one. All three are stocked with plush towels and essential toiletries for your stay.

The wraparound deck offers a peaceful perch in the trees, complete with forest views, a propane BBQ grill, and a dining area with cushioned chairs—ideal for outdoor meals or slow mornings. ⚠️ Mountain Access Advisory: This cabin is located in a mountainous area where road conditions can be challenging year-round. A reliable 4WD or AWD vehicle is strongly recommended, especially during snowy, icy, or muddy conditions. Please plan accordingly for safe access.



Guest Access:

The Neighborhood:

🏔️ Green Mountain Falls sits at 7,800 feet in a narrow mountain valley surrounded on all sides by Pike National Forest. Trails start right from the town center, including the Catamount Trail, a 6-mile round trip winding past waterfalls and through the Garden of Eden meadow to South Catamount Reservoir, with sweeping Pikes Peak views at the top. The Pikes Peak Highway entrance is just 9 minutes away, Cave of the Winds 15 minutes.



🍽️ The building itself is home to Cantina Verde, serving Southwest-inspired cuisine and award-winning margaritas right on the Ute Pass, and the Blue Moose Tavern, a classic mountain dive bar with craft beer, gourmet pizza, and live music on weekends. The Pantry, one of the most beloved breakfast spots in the entire Pikes Peak region, is just a short walk away. Black Bear Distillery rounds out the local scene with artisan small-batch spirits in a historic log cabin, open Saturdays.



🎨 Green Box Arts brings world-class contemporary performances and public art to this tiny mountain town year-round. Their crown jewel is the James Turrell Skyspace, Colorado's only Skyspace installation, a meditative light and color experience perched above Gazebo Lake in the Red Butte Recreation Area, accessible via a short trail right from the center of town. Summer brings two beloved annual events: the Green Box Arts Festival (July 4-19) and the 88th annual Bronc Day Festival (July 25), a Western parade with food trucks, local vendors, and a pie contest.



🛍️ Gazebo Lake and Lake Park are just a short walk away, offering trout fishing, walking paths, wildlife sightings, and the iconic 1890 Victorian gazebo on its own island. The town also has a seasonal municipal pool, perfect for cooling off after a morning on the trails. Woodland Park is just 5 minutes west for groceries and supplies, and serves as the gateway to Mueller State Park, Cripple Creek, and the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, home to petrified ancient redwood stumps and one of the richest fossil deposits in the world. Downtown Colorado Springs is 20 minutes east.



Getting Around:

🚗 By Car: A car is recommended for exploring beyond town. Downtown Colorado Springs is 20 minutes east, Garden of the Gods 22 minutes, Cave of the Winds 15 minutes, Pikes Peak Highway entrance 9 minutes, and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument about 25 minutes west on US-24. Free public parking is available along Ute Pass Avenue and in the lot by Gazebo Lake, just a short walk away.



🚶 On Foot: Green Mountain Falls is highly walkable. Gazebo Lake, local restaurants, shops, and trailheads are all within easy reach on foot. No car needed for a full day in town.



🚲 By Bike: The Ute Pass corridor is popular with cyclists. The relatively flat town center is easy to navigate by bike, with trail access beginning right from downtown.



🚌 Public Transit: Limited public transit serves the Green Mountain Falls area. A car is recommended for most trips beyond the immediate town center.



🚕 Rideshare: Uber and Lyft operate in the area, though availability may be limited given the town's small size. We recommend arranging transportation in advance for evening outings.

📜 Rental Agreement: For a seamless booking experience, a Rental Agreement is required for all reservations. Once your reservation is confirmed, we’ll provide details for completing the agreement.



🔑 Check-In Process: Your unique entry code and check-in instructions will be added to your personalized guidebook on the morning of your arrival. You’ll use this code for entry.



☕ Starter Supply: We’ve prepared a starter supply that includes paper towels, coffee K-cups, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, and plush white towels to make your stay more comfortable.



⏰ Unauthorized Late Checkout Fee: $20 per half hour late.



💵 Additional Fees

Damage Protection: A damage protection option is required for all reservations and is processed through our third-party system prior to arrival. Before check-in, you'll choose one of two options:

Damage Waiver: A non-refundable fee from $25–$40/night (max $200), covering accidental damage beyond normal wear and tear, up to $500. Most guests pick this, and nothing is held on your card.

Security Deposit: A fully refundable hold from $350–$1,000. This is a pre-authorized hold (not a charge) that is released following a damage-free inspection after checkout, typically within 7 business days.

Amounts depend on the home and length of stay. This is handled separately from your reservation payment.

Optional services like early check-in, late check-out, and extra guests can be arranged on request, subject to availability. These cover the cost of reworking the cleaning schedule or bringing in a second cleaner. Please message us ahead of time for pricing and availability.
