"We stayed at El Tigre Hideaway for four nights in July and had a truly unique and memorable experience. The villa itself is beautiful and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need, including extra blankets, robes and slippers, a fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of toiletries and supplies. The staff was also incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The nearby hikes were absolutely amazing and were some of the highlights of our trip. If you're looking for an authentic rainforest experience, this is it! There are a few things future guests should know. We visited in July and it rained almost nonstop during our stay, so unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy the outdoor patios or swing areas. We hiked in the rain, which was part of the adventure, but the humidity made it difficult for clothes to dry, even inside the villa. A small washer and dryer would be a wonderful addition for guests returning from muddy hikes. Also, if you are uncomfortable with bugs, be prepared. Even with doors and windows closed, some insects still found their way inside. They were fascinating and unlike anything we had ever seen, but there were quite a few of them. As advertised, you cannot drive directly to the villa and must use their transportation service. The drivers were prompt most of the time, but the road is steep, rocky, unpaved, and quite bumpy! No maid service and the closest restaurant for dinner is 30 minutes away. A peaceful, remote rainforest retreat"

"The views are great. Breakfast is fulfilling too. Consider this your lunch. Property is well maintained and very peaceful.the only one thing they can improve is providing clients with a trolly or something to carry bags from parking to their room. As the path leading to the room is all decorative pebbles the bag was heavy for me to carry it all the way to my room. Overall great stay during July 4th weekend."

"Our family absolutely loved Koora Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely cared for by the staff (especially Jason who has already reached out to me in advance to understand our arrival time) and fell in love with the setting, which is nestled beautifully into the mountain forest. The service was impeccable, and the view overlooking the Monteverde cloud forest from the restaurant was truly epic. The food was so fantastic that we ended up eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner there just to sample as much of the menu as possible—the fresh tropical fruit juices and local cuisine were highlights! Our Forest Room was incredibly cozy, and the overall design of the hotel is beautiful. We also loved how perfectly positioned the hotel is. It’s a stone’s throw from the amazing San Lucas Treetop Dining experience and literally ten steps away from Natuwa Reserve, where we took a lovely tour and saw sloths up close. I can’t say enough good things about this fantastic hotel. Highly recommended!"

"Clean and quiet; friendly and professional staff; pretty good breakfast, included. Opening/closing bathroom sliding door was a little difficult because no knob. Also heavy front room door had no knob in the inside so it was a little difficult to open it from inside."

Hotel Belmar

"Hotel Belmar was the perfect place to stay in Monteverde. Since we were working remotely for most of our trip, the meeting rooms and Wi-Fi were excellent—quiet, comfortable, and reliable for video calls. The biggest surprise was the birdlife around the hotel. We actually saw more birds from the terrace than on some of the wildlife tours we took. Since we were working and couldn’t spend all day exploring, it felt like we had our own birdwatching experience right from the hotel. We could even spot birds while working from the meeting room, which made the workdays feel pretty special."
