"Was not what I expected in at all.. not in a great way"

"The cabin we booked was perfect. It was at a walking distance to the office and they served breakfast tacos the weekend we stayed. The walk to the San Marcos river was maybe about 5 minutes. It was also about a 10-15 minute drive to the city but far enough that you could see the stars at night! Staff was courteous and answered any questions we had. Will definitely go again. "

"Check in was quick and painless. The property was beautiful. If traveling with children.. they have games available. Limited/No plastic plates and cups so bring your own. The house was so clean and cozy and quiet. There is a basketball goal but the ball was flat (no biggie). It was close to all the things but far enough to feel country and secluded. Check out was easy and that is so appreciated. Bring some extra paper towels, foil and ziplocks/tupperware. The details in the home furnishing was top notch and beautiful. If you are a light sleeper, consider that the airport is close by. The beds are comfy and clean. Bathrooms are stocked. Lots of outdoor seating to visit and relax. Kids loved collecting pecans and sitting in the hammocks. Would stay again!! "

"The host was responsive and the location is fantastic, right on the river with beautiful views and plenty of activities nearby. This is a much older, very eclectic property with lots of character, not a modern or newly renovated rental, which worked well for our group.The large, well-equipped gathering room was perfect for our extended family gathering, and we made great use of the extra kitchen, pool table, darts, and pickleball. There’s also plenty of outdoor space to enjoy, including a firepit, which was a highlight for us.Kayaks are available, though the river current moves quickly in some areas, so plan for a downstream paddle and arrange pickup rather than expecting to paddle back upstream.With the home’s age and unique setting, occasional extra attention to deep cleaning would further enhance the experience. Overall, this place is ideal for guests who value space, activities, and a great river setting and are comfortable with an older home that has a lived-in, rustic feel."
