"Needs work. Kitchen is FREEZING. Strip lighting in a house is a no-no for me, but there they were in the kitchen and main bedroom. The opposite of cosy/comfortable. No blinds on the velux windows in main bedroom means bright light pouring in from 5am. We're on holiday!The lighting all-round was sub-par. One tiny lamp in living area so 6 VERY bright spot lights are the only option. It's just not relaxing. These were our main gripes.Beds comfy, linen nice, sofa nice, kitchen well equipped. Loved...

"old and run down. the shower leaks through the 240 volt fire alarm so that is going to be interesting at some point. the toilet is not steady (moving). the stairs are steep and the hand railing is falling of the wall. there is no way to communicate with the hosts if you have any concerns. this is not of the standard one would expect from expedia. the outside is not maintained. and the inside is run down. retro expression is really just an excuse for old and not maintained. "

"Great communication from owner before & after stay. property was clean, but tired in places. We were heading to Alton Towers so was a perfectly good place for 1 night at a reasonable price. "

"Good size, loved to tea coffee draw, Sofas a bit uncomfortable, and pillows are poor quality, But I would stay again if I was in the area."

"2 nights stay, the house matched our needs in every way. Spacious, large bedrooms and excellent size lounge.Outdoor space was used right through to late evening, bbq and fire pit very useful, overall a really great property.Host Richard was most helpful with our various questions!"

"Fair for the price range and location. Steep steps down to the front door with a couple that need to be stable which at night time might be hazardous. House is living room, kitchen, bathroom and conservatory on ground floor with the three bedrooms upstairs. Main bedroom has wardrobes that if both opened, fall over. Please be aware. Whole house has white binds within which can be good or bad depending on if you are a heavy or light sleeper. Bedroom doors dont close shut. Kitchen has all...

"We couldn’t get in and had to go to the hotel up the road. Had no communication from the host. We looked through the window and there was no furniture in the house and the neighbour said the same happened to someone else "

"We booked the property and when we tried to contact the owner for access details we got no response. We didn't even get inside the property (though from the outside it didn't look like it did in the listing) and we had to stay in a nearby hotel. We are still waiting for a refund."

"Beautiful hotel, room (garden room) and service. After a not so great stay at a previous hotel that weekend, it was nice to be welcomed to the Stone Hotel. Will definitely recommend to friends and if down this way again, will be booking for sure. Thank you."
