We'll never know a precise number, but, suffice it to say that millions of people have seen this view of the Columbia Gorge from the lookout sponsored for decades by the Portland Women's Forum.

If we say (very) conservatively that one percent of those people have photographed this view, that means that tens of thousands of images have been generated from this very spot.

You can't talk about shooting the best image -- that has already been done, or will be done, or may never be done.

All you can hope for is to try to do the thing justice. And if you're lucky at all -- to do the thing proud.

Multnomah Falls
Head east out of Portland, OR on the I-84, then hop onto Route 30 (Historic Columbia River Highway) at Corbett. There are heaps of viewpoints and waterfalls for about 20 miles. It's a great excursion from Portland!
