"We have had a wonderful week in Finca Vergel, Gata. The hosts, Rosa and Sebastian were warm and welcoming, the rooms were very comfortable with great attention to detail. The beautifully tended garden is filled with olive and a variety fruit trees, and to be able to wander down to the river was an added bonus. "I was looking forward to our stay in the parador. It didn't disappoint. A building with a historic feel. The staff were friendly and our room was clean and tidy It's in a good location. We didn't use the swimming pool . It has a lovely outdoor seating area Having been out, we returned not too late to find the bar de noches closing This is not a criticism but a sign if you want a quiet peaceful stay, then this is the place for you An enjoyable short stay"

Useful hotel en route to France from Portugal.

"This was our second time staying at this hotel. Once on the way down from France to Portugal and once on the way back.. It is a large, well appointed hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient. The room was clean and well appointed with a little balcony to look out over the car park, the road and the retail units beyond. Good double glazing as the room was very quiet. We had a light breakfast in the cafeteria which is a part of the hotel, which was extra to our room price, but very reasonably priced and great coffee. "
