5/5 Excellent
"This property had a delightful retro vibe. It has been renovated top to bottom, inside and out, and has a perfect location on Lake Seneca. The views are spectacular, especially the sunrises. Every room has a view of the lake. Beds were comfy, rooms were spotless with good temperature control (and no musty or weird smell like you sometimes find in older renovated properties.) Super close to the charming town of Watkins Glen and only a 5-minute drive to Watkins Glen State Park waterfalls and hiking trails. Since the hotel is near the bottom of Lake Seneca, it’s close to the dock for harbor cruises and make a great base to explore wineries & breweries on both sides of Seneca. The onsite restaurant and bar had surprisingly good food. And the deck between the two buildings, which featured comfy chairs arranged around several gas fire pits, was the perfect hangout place to unwind with a glass of local wine at the end of the day. The only downside is that you’d hear cars outside when other guests came and went but the motel layout makes it really easy to take luggage in and out of the room since you park right outside the door to your room. I loved this place so much I bought gift certificates for holiday gifts for my adult kids. "
