It was clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast was great. Only problem, the room was not ready at check-in time of 2pm. Had to wait an hour but that did not ruin our stay there.

Booked a king bed, was given 2 queens. When I went back to the front desk, they said those rooms were already sold out. When walking into the room it was hot. One of the towels, had stained streaks on them. No orange juice was available during breakfast. Well lit parking and friendly staff.

Everything was perfectly lovely! Spotlessly clean, inside and out. The Room was perfect, not a single complaint! I LOVED the Indirect Lighting behind the Headboard! It gave the perfect Nightlight. The Staff was amazing! Lucinda was so friendly, professional, courteous and surprised us by graciously upgrading our room. I was so surprised and touched by her thoughtfulness and generosity. We will certainly stay here again anytime we are in the area. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Best Western Plus and know you will love it too!

Sweet and Simple

My stay was rather nice. The hotel is older but clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. Also the room that we stayed in was very spacious. I have a business trip back there in a couple weeks and will definitely be staying here again.

When I checked in the lady that checked in, was so nice to me she’s very friendly. They’re going through a remodel and there were no numbers on the doors, but overall it was clean. They had the pool, which was perfect for the hot weather and they accommodated my small pet for a small fee

The facility is undergoing a renovation so things were understandably in flux. All things considered the staff did a good job making the best of the situation. The desk attendant in the afternoon when we checked in was very helpful and pleasant. The one this morning, not so much.

Maybe short staffed because there was rarely someone at the desk all the times we passed by. Any problem we did have, it got solved ! The restroom fan was obnoxiously loud and there was mold on the shower curtain. Could be worse. I didn’t see bugs or anything concerning in the room. Renovations are being made so it’s crazy looking in some areas but that’s normal. Pretty good,

Review of recent stay @ Best Western Plus Portland

This hotel is in the process of some remodeling of the main areas. I do not know if this will extend to the rooms, which are in dire need of being remodeled and repaired. That being said I have to commend the staff for their efforts in making this a good stay. They were friendly and the cleaning staff was excellent. This is a hotel that is in need of being remodeled completely. Our room, although clean, had several issues which need to be addressed. The shower/bath combo walls were damaged, visible cracks/break in the wall. There was no shower mat so footing was an issue. The breakfast was good and provided the basics that should fit most traveler's nutrition requirements. If you can get a room here at a reasonable price, it's an ok place to stay, however if you find this place at the same prices as the neighboring hotels, then I would not recommend this place due to those issues I mentioned.

My room was dirty from the moment I walked in. There were old entry cards, and little salt and pepper packages in the cupboard above the sink. In the cabinet below the sink was a 30 gallon trash bag with opened waters and other items I wasn’t going to dig through, why the electric burners to the stove from the kitchenette were on the bedside table made me wonder as well. There are definitely better places to stay in Portland Texas, and for how expensive this place was I would expect a whole lot more. At least there was a restaurant next door that cooked a decent ribeye, and had a beautiful bar.

We arrived at the property late Saturday evening pretty tiered but, we were greeted by the most energetic and friendly host which was a refreshing experience (E. Mata). We were greeted by name when we arrived, which was a pleasant surprise. After speaking with our host and explaining why we were in town, we were placed in a room close to my daughter’s teammates which made my daughter really happy that she would be able to visit with her friend right next door. I had never had such an experience like this in any other hotel, it was fantastic! Through out our stay we were constantly greeted by a smile and good positive conversation as well as directions to local eateries and the park which was where we were having our baseball tournament. Over all I recommend this location to anyone and thanks to E. Mata , we will defiantly be staying here in the future. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable to sleep in. Thanks for the wonderful experience, Mata.👍😊
