"We enjoyed our stay! The staff was helpful planning our excursions and transportation. We were also glad to stay on property and walk the trails, see the lake and use the hot springs and pools. The restaurant had beautiful presentations with every meal I ordered."

Hotel Los Lagos Spa & Resort

"We love coming to Las Lagos! Every detail from the spacious rooms, to the array of hot springs, to the spa, to the restaurant is top of the line. The breakfast buffet is a feast with a delightful selection of fruit, great coffee and pretty much anything your heart could desire for breakfast! You have to try the mint lemonade!"

"Property was beautiful. MANY stairs and hills, but they did offer a shuttle that usually was pretty prompt. Staff was very friendly and helpful Ala cart restaurants were amazing. Buffet was not very big but fuss was decent. They only allow 1 Ala cart reservation per every 3 days even tho the restaurants always had empty tables. That was disappointing."

Fairfield by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela
10/10 Excellent
"This was our first time traveling to Costa Rica and I’m glad we chose this hotel. The rooms were nice and clean. AC worked well! Parking is in front of the hotel. We paid extra for the breakfast and it was delicious. We were also able to exchange a small amount cash USD at the front desk which was convenient. There are a few restaurants walking distance away that were also wonderful!"

Hotel Riu Palace Costa Rica - All Inclusive

"As a woman in my 20s traveling solo, I had a mixed experience staying here. Room: My room was clean, and housekeeping did a great job every day when requested. One strange thing did happen, though,a mattress appeared behind the curtains in my room halfway through my stay. I never asked about it, but it was definitely odd. Amenities: The pools and bar were great, but what really stood out was the service staff. Everyone serving drinks was incredibly personable. They asked about my travels, joked around, remembered my name, and made me feel genuinely welcome. As a solo traveler, that made a big difference. Food: The buffet was by far the best dining option. I tried eating at the specialty restaurants, but I was turned away twice because I didn't get in line around 5:15 p.m. to receive a ticket that sells out quick. If you're spending your days on excursions you won’t be able to dine. Room service is VERY limited. Noise: I honestly wish I hadn't paid extra for the ocean-view room. While the view was beautiful, it overlooked the stage where nightly entertainment took place. The music was very loud and made it difficult to sleep. It became a "if you can't beat them, join them" situation, but since I had early morning excursions planned, I often ended up exhausted. Overall: I think this resort is a better fit if you plan to spend most of your vacation relaxing on the property. if you're a traveler planning to spend most of your time exploring Costa Rica, I don’t recommend"
