About this property
500' Lakeshore, 2 Docks, Sand Beach, Sleeps 10, A/C, Pontoon Boat for Rent
We rent our 24ft, 130 HP Pontoon Boat to guests at below market rates and its available at our dock. Call or write for more information. Our cherished lake home is located on a point on Chief Lake, former residence of the World Record Musky (now residing on a wall at the Moccasin Bar 17 miles away in Hayward, Wisconsin). The home has a beautiful wood floor and cedar paneling throughout the main living area. It has three bedrooms for adults and a large cedar paneled "bunk room" with four single beds on the far end. Kids can play loud without disturbing their parents on the other end. All appliances are like new, and a 50-inch smart TV with Direct TV service provides entertainment along with my old stereo from college that will plug into an iPhone. Kids and dogs play in a 1 3/4 acre wooded yard. A 30 foot sand beach and two docks make for great swimming and lounging in the sunshine. Also, there's plenty of room for hitching boats large and small. The Flowage is among the more famous fisheries in this part of the country, with an annual Musky Hunt tournament which takes place in September. Walleye, crappies, large and smallmouth bass and northern pike are also favorites throughout the Flowage. Many particularly serious fisherman come from far and wide to ply their skills. Dining is available by boat at two nearby locations and more places throughout the 17,000 acre Chippewa Flowage. Touring the 300 miles of shoreline and nine lakes that form the Flowage includes a walk beneath a blue-heron rookery; a walk on one of several floating islands populated with tall trees; having a picnic on a sandy beach on one of the dozens of islands; visiting the dam that forms the Flowage and many other interesting sights. Campsites are available first-come-first-serve on islands throughout the Flowage. Best of all, 95% of the Flowage remains in its natural state, undeveloped. Bald eagles, beavers, bears, otters and even an occasional wolf are often seen. The World Lumberjack Championship happens in Hayward each year in July and the Lumberjack Bowl puts on performances all summer long. Just down the road from Hayward is the famous Cranberry Festival in Stone Lake in October.. And Hayward is also the site of one of the world's great cross-country ski races, the Birkebeiner. The 4th of July is an American classic that includes baseball, picnics, amusement rides and ends in a dazzling fireworks display. Don't want to go into town for fireworks? Some of the resorts put on a show as well. But most special of all for Hayward is its very own annual Musky Fest in June when main street overflows with fun activities. There is no end to all the things for families to do in the Hayward area.

Property spectactular , cozy lake home, I had to reach out to owners, how get in,pay pontoon, thought they would ,update me. PS mattresses in back bedroom ,4 twin beds, are unsleepable, we did ENJOY, will come back
Girlfriends weekend - plenty of space to relax and enjoy ourselves. Home has that "Family Weekend place on the Lake" vibe - beautifully decorated and everything provided, firepit, fireplace, stocked with pots, pans, glassware & dishes. We used the pontoon boat which was gassed and ready to go, and left it for the next person in the same condition. What a great opportunity it was to stay here. We will definately be checking dates for 2025! Thank you to the Owners for providing such a wonderful space.
This was our 2nd time staying at this location on Chief Lake. The home is perfect for 2 families. The only issue this time was the 4 twin beds in the kids room had uncomfortable mattresses. A couple of the kids slept on the couches instead because of the twin mattresses not being great for sleeping on. Hopefully that will be updated before we would return again next summer!
We have stayed here five or six times . It has an unbelievably large lot with two docks to fish off of. Only one dock will hold boats . The inside is very comfortable with a nice couch and two recliners . Also has two tables indoor to dine on. The kitchen truly has everything you could need plus more. Two nice full bathrooms plus a washer and dryer .
Barbara the property manager is outstanding adding special touches to the cabin. Check in was a breeze . The views from the docks and cabin are stunning . Huge amount of shoreline on property with a nice sandy beach on one side for swimmers in the summer .
The only negative I can say is the outside of house needs cleaned up. They are working on that because the bushes were removed however there is cobwebs , and all kinds of stuff that needs to be knocked down outside around the house. So when you pull up it’s not as inviting as other places . But the location and comfort of the cabin outweighs the outside of cabin to us. There are windows all across the back to expose this amazing view. However they were so dirty it was a little distracting . You can’t open any of them and it’s been that way for several years . The gutters in front are so packed with debris that the rain just goes over them and runs right on you when coming out the front door . The back screen porch is not in the best shape but works perfectly for fishing stuff . It has a large table in it. We will be back next year. We love it there .
This is the eighth year in a row that I have rented Breezy Point. I absolutely love the place. It is a tranquil getaway with a magnificent view of the water. Although it is hardly new, it has a quaint charm. The house is very comfortable. The kitchen is supprisingly well stocked with appliances. The screen porch is a welcome gathering spot on warm evenings. I will continue to rent the house as long as I am physically able. I have told the owner that if I were 25 years younger, I would make him an offer on the property that he couldn't refuse.
Had another great time! Had great boating, fishing, and our dogs swam and enjoyed the generous yard area. Thank you for another great stay! Barbara and Matt are the best!!
The property was perfect. We had a fantastic time fishing, swimming and relaxing on the pontoon boat. The house was very quaint and comfortable. The views of the lake were magnificent. We would go back in a heartbeat!
Enjoyed all the amazing features of Breezy Point. Comfortable beds and living spaces, docks for our boats, sandy swimming area for kids, lovely lawn space and the fish were biting! Would definitely return.
Absolutely amazing property. Feels very isolated and quiet. The beach was perfect for our son and dog to play all day. The property didn’t look like it had really been cleaned well ( hair in the tub and dog hair wasn’t vacuumed) but we just cleaned it up ourselves no big deal. Definitely not even close to a deal breaker and we will absolutely be staying again!!
This is a beautiful place. We love it here. The house is perfect for our family group. We used the screened in porch for meals and playing cards and games--like being outside. The view is beautiful. With two docks, swimming area and plenty of fish in the lake, what more could you ask?
The property is amazing. Easy access for elderly into and out of the cabin, docks were great for our fishing boats and pontoon rental, the cabin was spacious- we had 10 people and we didn’t feel like we were on top of one another and the view was breathtaking. We did lots of fishing - catching bluegills, crappies, and muskys.
The views of Chief Lake are breathtaking.
The property manager, Barbara, was fabulous - she called to check in with us upon arrival and towards the end of the week again to see how everything was going.
This is a property we will definitely rent again.
I will start with the obligatory "I don't do reviews". I'll make the exception for this place. This is a top notch Northern Wisconsin destination. The images on the site do not do it justice. The lot is as good as it gets in this part of the world. Lake level, sandy shore two docks and 500' of shoreline. The cabin is a bit dated and appliances are not Wolf/Subzero but oh well. Bedrooms are comfortable and it was very clean upon check in. View of lake from the cabin and screened in porch unrivaled. I would rebook without hesitation and we are annoyingly discerning customers. My family was blown away with this place. If I could live there from May to October I would.
OMG we caught our limit every day of various panfish which we were fishing for. Also caught northern pikes, walleye and bass. It’s the best fishing we ever had there ! This is our fourth stay at this property so obviously we love it. We have stayed at various properties but they weren’t near as comfortable as this one. The furniture , including beds, are so comfortable. It had cable, Netflix etc. It sits on a point on Chief Lake with gorgeous views of the bay and the flowage . The lot is massive with two very nice docks with a bench on each one. There is a boat lift available and plenty of parking space at the large dock. The view is breathtaking from the living room. We had goslings , eagles, loons, and herons in abundance. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen we have ever had. There is a Keurig fyi. Barbara the property manager is so pleasant and really does a great job in making sure your stay is comfortable . She is available for any questions you may have .
There’s plenty of room for large groups yet cozy enough just for the two of us. The A/C works great . It was so nice to walk into a cool place after driving from Omaha, Nebraska . There’s a screen porch a little rough looking but it has a large table and chairs to sit and relax on. It was great for our fishing gear . For any future guests bring yard guard and lots of big repellant. The mosquitos are bad this year because last year’s crop never froze out. Thank you Scott for sharing your beautiful property !

Best view and best fishing we have ever experienced in Wisconsin on the flowage.
Well this review is hard to write because it's going to make it more difficult for us to get our specific timeframe each year ( not telling you when that is😉). My family and I have been coming to Wisconsin for the past 7 yrs to fish the flowage and in the fall blueberry lake. We have spent countless hours with no bites but bugs. We have family here who know a lot of "secret spots". We have NEVER experienced the fishing we had at Breezy Point aka this property .
Within minutes of dropping our lines it was game on with the fish . We caught the biggest bluegills we ever have in Wisconsin ( yes we know how to fish for them), the northern pikes were almost annoying because of the abdunance of them, and the bass were striking early am and in the evenings, both large and small mouth. We caught small mouths off of both docks, and saw a huge large mouth but he was under the dock and evidently not hungry. Some used plastics , others worms, they weren't hitting minnows for us but we didn't try too often since what we were doing was working.
We admit we had a rough first day due to some unforeseen circumstances . We communicated these to Scott and he instantly was gracious and helped us with some stuff. He picked up my calls about light switches, opening a window etc and never hinted one tone of annoyance with asking how to turn a light on or open a window.
Lastly the property itself . It sits on a point with a front view and both side views, STUNNING VIEWS complimented by two loyal loons visiting us often . If you haven't looked at a loon thru binoculars you are missing out. Plus their call is one of the most beautiful calls to hear at night. A gorgeous water bird. We also had the pleasure of watching a pair of bald eagles soar and come down for some dead fish floating on the water.
Lastly, I need to stress that all this fishing occurred within a half mile of Scott's place, no kidding. So now we are so psyched because yes we are going back this fall to explore all the other areas close by that we saw the other boats fishing.
Lastly number 2, I forgot to tell you how amazing the inside is. Two king beds with the best bedding ever, one queen, and another room with a lot of large twin beds that were comfortable too. The best stocked kitchen through all my stays at VRBOS'. The owners have cupboards marked for the guests full of spices, and all kinds of stuff for the chefs, yes we love to cook too.
I promise you, best sunset ever. Thank you Scott. Cya Sept
This is our second stay at this home. We throughly enjoyed our experience. Sunrise & sunsets were amazing. Beds comfortable and plenty’s of space for the grandkids to play both inside and outside. Great fishing and swimming. We will definitely be back!
