"This was the single worst hotel experience I've had in years of travel. The hotel is a very old building with stone and hardwood, and there is zero sound insulation. You can hear your neighbors talking like they're in your room. There was no staff at the hotel in the late evening, so our first night was exceptionally loud with people going up and down the hall shouting. But it quieted down after several hours. The second night was worse as on top of the sound of people running around and shouting, someone tried to get in our room and was shouting at our door. I went to reception and no one was there and called down and no one answered. Later when I complained, the answer was basically "oh I'm sorry". The third night was even worse as someone was yelling and trying to get into our room both at 11pm and 3am. No staff was available to help, and we contemplated calling the police but the person who tried to get into our room sounded drunk and confused but not aggressive. The next morning, it was hard to find a staff person that spoke English, but when I did the response was very rudely that if I didn't like their hotel I could leave, and they would not give me a refund of the nights I didn't stay there (I stayed 3/6 nights). We chose to leave, because we were exhausted from 3 nights of poor sleep and frankly didn't feel safe. Expedia also tried numerous times on our behalf to get a refund of the nights we didn't use, but the hotel refused them too. "
