Summary:
Welcome to Your Updated Mountain Escape at the Grand Lodge
Imagine waking up in a freshly renovated studio, just a 5-minute walk from Crested Butte Mountain Resort. You'll find yourself perfectly positioned to maximize ski days while enjoying the comfort of a thoughtfully updated space with all the essentials you need.
The Space:
This third-floor studio in the East Building sleeps 4 guests and comes with premium amenities most mountain properties can't match—including complimentary town shuttle service, free Wi-Fi, and access to an indoor/outdoor pool and large hot tub.
The Space
This 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom studio has been recently renovated to blend mountain comfort with practical design. You get a spacious king-size bed plus a king sofa bed, giving you flexibility for how you arrange your group. The layout feels open and welcoming, with natural light flooding through the windows. Your private entrance means you can come and go as you please without navigating shared hallways—a significant convenience when you're arriving late or heading out early for first chair.
The kitchenette is better equipped than typical lodge rooms. You'll find a one-burner stove, small dishwasher, mini fridge, kitchen sink, and all the cooking basics you need. Whether you're meal-prepping for a ski day or making a late-night snack run obsolete, you have real options. A TV with cable keeps you entertained on downtime.
Sleeping Arrangements & Bathrooms
You'll sleep comfortably on a king-size bed with quality linens and access to extra pillows and blankets. The second sleeping option is a king sofa bed—perfect for couples traveling together or families with older kids. The full bathroom has everything you need after a full day on the mountain or trails.
Amenities That Make a Difference
This property includes amenities usually found only at full-service resorts, and they're complimentary:
Free Wi-Fi throughout your stay keeps you connected.
Complimentary town shuttle service—no need to arrange your own transportation.
Indoor/outdoor pool and large hot tub for après-ski relaxation (both well-maintained and clean).
Large steam room for soothing post-activity muscle recovery.
Fitness center with gym equipment.
Dedicated ski and bike storage with our partner Butte & Co—your gear stays organized and secure.
Luggage dropoff allowed so you can explore before check-in.
Elevator access on your floor.
Free parking on premises with one parking pass per room for outdoor parking.
Additional amenities in your room include heating, a TV with cable, a washer and dryer, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a dedicated workspace—useful if you need to handle any work remotely.
Your Location & Why It Matters
You're 5 minutes on foot from Crested Butte Mountain Resort's base—close enough to grab coffee and breakfast at nearby shops before you head up, but far enough that you're not dealing with noise or congestion. The location sits in Crested Butte itself, a breathtaking mountain destination known for world-class skiing and a thriving community beyond the winter season.
The surrounding area includes gift shops and newsstands at the Grand Lodge, plus a cozy fireplace in the lobby where you can warm up and meet other guests. Within your immediate neighborhood, you'll find restaurants and coffee shops—perfect for grabbing a quick bite or unwinding after a day outdoors.
The Building & What to Expect
The Grand Lodge is a 3-star property of individually owned condos managed by BookTraverse. There's no front desk, but your host is readily available to respond to guest questions and needs. While the building has historic character as an older property, your studio is newly updated with modern fixtures and finishes—you get the charm of an established mountain lodge without sacrificing comfort or functionality.
One important note: Building amenities are managed by a separate company and may occasionally close amenities without advance notice. This is rare, but it's something to be aware of. The property has heating, though there is no air conditioning—worth noting if you're traveling during warmer months, though Crested Butte's elevation keeps nights cool even in summer.
