Such a lovely inn right on Offa's. Welcoming hosts. Fabulous breakfast. Beautiful grounds. Great views. A favorite for sure! Enjoyed best dinner on our trip a short walk away.

This is a lovely place, the food was excellent and the room very warm and cozy. We have a dog and the grounds are good for excising him. The dog is allowed anywhere except the restaurant. Will definitely stay here again.

The staff at this hotel made us feel comfortable and like we were part of the neighboring community as soon as we walked in the door. We had arrived at the hotel very early and hung out in the pub area while they got our room ready. The staff are welcoming and the feel of the hotel itself is cozy. We would recommend a stay at this hotel.

Great country stay

Brilliant locations with footpath onto the canal from the hotel and not a long walk into town. Room was very comfortable and staff were super friendly. Food in the restaurant was great and included vegan options. The only dissaspointing thing was there was only instant coffee at breakfast which didn't match the standard of everything else.

Great location near the village of Crickhowell Comfortable and clean room, public areas could do with a scrub. Cooked breakfast disappointing - where corners had been cut with bullet hard sausages - that said, excellent choice of continental breakfast

Nice location, but that’s about it.

Fantastic location, but the hotel itself is very tired. Room, bed and bathroom generally in poor condition. It’s a shame as it has the potential to be an absolutely lovely place. Very nice staff and breakfast. We only stayed one night as we had it as a stopover, would not stay there again unless it was fully renovated.

Convenient position for seeing the area. Very cold floor in bathroom, no bath mat supplied, we had to use one of our towels. additionally towel radiator not working and leaking bottom left making floor wet. Would have liked a net curtain at window of our ground floor room which overlooked the car park, had to keep curtains closed for privacy.

We were first given a key to an Executive Room that had not received service and still had the previous tenant’s food tray. They then put us in another Executive Room that had not been used in a while. There were over 30 dead flies scattered across the carpet and some debris in the bathtub. The sheets were very clean and we had traveled very far, so we cleaned up the flies and stayed. Everything is very outdated and the rooms are. It nicely appointed or arranged. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was lovely.it is an east walk down a walking path into CrickHowell proper where there are some great Cafe’s.

Not quite as advertised.

We were really looking forward to this stay, the advertisement had said air conditioned rooms and on site gardens. There was no air conditioning, anywhere. The dining room was stifling and they didn’t so much as open a window, it was honestly so hot and humid it was hard to breath. Our room was the same. And no gardens, just a lawn with a few apple trees. The staff were lovely, but next time we will give this place a miss.

Needs a serious deep clean

We got to the room to find it was a twin and not a double so we went straight back to the desk to get that changed. We got a free drink at the bar while she ziplinked the ends together. When we got back in the room we noticed that it was not clean. Mould in the bathroom, I had to clean the toilet because I was desperate after the long drive. The carpet hadn't been cleaned at all with hair and food left on it. The carpet did not fit the floor and was frayed at the edges. The door handle in the bathroom was not fitted properly and there were dead bugs lying around the widow and the floor. There was also rust in the kettle and dust in the mugs. We did not feel comfortable staying in this room and after hearing another guest complaining about the cleanliness of their room we did not want t stay in the hotel either. We booked another place and checked out. We were not charged

Am Nachmittag des Ankunftstags, versuchte ich anzurufen, um Bescheid zu sagen, dass wir spät ankommen. Leider war niemand erreichbar. Dann habe ich im Internet herausgefunden, dass das Hotel zu war. Weder vom Hotel noch von Expedia wurde ich informiert und ich habe 2 Stunden am Telefon gebraucht, bevor ich eine Antwort von Expedia bekam. Dann habe ich selber ein Ersatzhotel gesucht!! Ich bin total enttäuscht und war super gestresst. Nicht was man braucht als Urlaubsanfang!

Old Rectory in the heart of Welsh Countryside

Fantastic old Rectory in a quiet country area ideal for walks along the nearby canal. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice cooked to order. Staff were helpful and friendly. Decor needs a bit of TLC but it is an old listed building.
