"A lovely county castle surrounded by Belted Galloway cattle and sheep. The castle grounds have a fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. Tobias is truly a wonderful gentleman and host. He prepared an amazing breakfast both mornings which consisted of local flavors ( haggis, blood pudding, potato cakes, eggs, bacon and sausage). Tobias gave us a tour of the chapel and grand hall with interesting history. Baron James prepared a formal dinner which was also delicious. We are Maxwell descendants by DNA...

"I took my Mum, 2 Aunts (all in their eighties) and Pep the dog to this lovely house for a week of relaxation and togetherness. It was perfect ! The accommodation (especially the sun room and living room) were great for sitting and looking over the trees and rooftops to the bay...spacious and cosy at the same time. Rockcliffe is beautiful. The house a great walk for me and the pooch to the beach ,through the woods and over the rocks. Lots of places to visit around and about...something for...
