1. KATE'S COTTAGE, pet friendly, with open fire in Ballina, County Mayo

Ballina

"We had the most wonderful stay in Katie's Cottage. We met the lovely host Caroline on arrival and we couldn't have gotten a warmer welcome. There was fresh scones with jam and butter and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The house was absolutely immaculate with loads of fresh towels and bed linen. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The surrounding area is stunning and the cottage was a great base to explore all of this. Top Crossmolina Hotel Reviews

The Ellison Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"All good, nice hotel. Staff are excellent and the food is great. Great location"

Castlecourt Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Very comfortable stay and everything clean. Really comfortable beds and all required amenities in room. Housekeeping staff all great, majority of staff in restaurant were excellent, same in bar. Breakfast was excellent and though we did have to wait a bit, once seated, service was excellent. Gym a bit worn, could do with a facelift but pool and pool area lovely. Would highly recommend a stay in the Castlecourt, Great location, lovely staff, great food. We will be back. Thank you :)"

Moy Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel and bar were lovely. Our room was great, the bath was excellent. The shower leaked and dripped every 2 seconds during the night but put a towel down and couldn’t hear it after a while. The staff were so helpful, above and beyond when helping me find some one local to track down a family members memorial bench. Highly recommend"

The Mariner Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We had a lovely room with a king bed which was very welcome. Everything was well maintained and the shower excellent. The location in the heart of Westport is fab. Staff were so helpful and we enjoyed our time in the bar!!! The breakfast was the best we had in Ireland during our tour. Westport is a little gem of a place that is well worth a visit and if you do the Mariners is highly recommended."

Knockranny House Hotel and Spa

10/10 Excellent

"It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary, and I asked the hotel to provide a few things to make it just a bit different. They did, in bucket loads!!!!!!! Everybody we spoke to was nice, friendly, and efficient. Our room in the hotel was very good, just that bit above what we would normally have. The cleanliness of the room was fantastic, along with all other parts of the hotel we visited. The evening meals served in the Bar and the Main Restaurant were so good, especially in the Main Restaurant. Definitely the best meals we have had anywhere else. The waiting staff was second to none. Did we enjoy our stay? You bet we did!!!"

The Ocean Sands Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Brilliant stay in the lovely Ocean sands hotel. Brought our dog along. The views of the beach from our room were breathtaking . Also the food was top notch. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back. Pay the little bit extra for a beach facing room it’s worth it for the sunsets"

Twin Trees Hotel & Brusna Falls Leisure

10/10 Excellent

"Four of us stayed at the Twin Trees for a girls night out, and it was a wonderful place! We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel over the two days, and everything was top notch! The front desk manager (Becke?) is excellent at her job - she helped us get taxis and generally handled all of our questions with grace and humor. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the Ballina region."

Westport Plaza Hotel

8/10 Good

"I honestly would give this a 3.5 rating instead of a 4, but it wasn't an option. This hotel is in a good location, but the rooms are very dated. The furniture is worn and tired. The baseboards, doors, and carpets are dented or torn. The upsides to the hotel are the restaurant and bar are great. The food, drinks and staff were all wonderful. I would not stay here again until they've updated the rooms."
