Riverside Cabin

Get away and recuperate! Nestled in the trees high above the water, the Overlook Cabin offers a peaceful, comfortable, and intimate experience of the Ohio River, with a large riverfront window, 8x12ft deck, & jacuzzi bathtub. The 12x40ft space has a queen bed, two twins, and a couch, and would be great for families, hunters, or couples. Dogs/cats welcome. Cabins are stocked with complimentary locally-sourced coffee. There is a large outdoor area for kids to play or for a picnic or campfire, a gas grill, climbing dome, and a path directly down to the river for hiking or fishing. Lots of hiking/hunting in the area, about four miles from a boat launch (KH Butler), and 10-15-minutes from a cute little town. Free parking on site. Free wifi. Smart TV & DVD player available. Owners live onsite should any issues arise.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing and the cabin was extremely cozy, also our hosts went above and beyond in communication and ensuring we had everything we needed. The view of the river is also incredible!

Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was very clean and quaint. Breakfast brought to our door in the morning was a nice touch. We went to visit the Mothman Museum which was beautiful easy 30 minute drive. It was exactly what we were looking for at a great price. Communication was great as soon as I made the reservation. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to stay. There is an "industrial" area right across the river which gave off a constant hum but, it didn't really bother me much. And the patio on the back overlooking the Ohio river was the perfect place to enjoy breakfast and have a morning coffee.
The porch was spotless. Not a cobweb or bird poop to be found.

Cute little cabin overlooking the Ohio River with views of West Virginia and passing barges. Very relaxing and great breakfasts.

Comfy cabin

We enjoyed our overnight stay here with our three dogs. The cabin is very clean and comfortable, and it was a real treat to have a hot breakfast served the next morning!

The wife and I were in town for a short stay. The cabin was new clean and had every amenity needed. The view from being right on the river was absolutely amazing. The host was very accommodating to our specific needs. We will certainly stay again when we come back

Relaxing getaway

It was very clean and the perfect spot to get away from the city. It's a great place to bring your dog if th like water our dog did not want to leave. The property owners stayed in contact with us to make sure everything was good with the property and to see if we needed anything. We plan on coming back in the near future.

I liked how responsive the owners are and how quiet it is. The breakfasts are amazing - they give you a menu and bring it to your door when you want and it tastes great! The only downside is when it's super cold out, the floor gets cold, but they do run space heaters in addition to the regular heater and even put down extra rugs. The cabin is on stilts since it's right on the river so I think some insulation under the floor would make it perfect!

Great Stay

My b/f and I needed to get away for a brief break. This was ideal for us, a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle, plus free breakfast? Score! While this place may not be centrally located for some, do not be fooled. You are only 10-15 minutes from the town of Galipolis Ohio which offers all your big box stores and restaurants. Additionally we visited Charleston WV (35-40 minutes away), Huntington WV (20 minutes away). Ashland KY is also only 20 miles south of Huntington as well. I imagine most people would stay in the summer months, but we enjoyed 2 days in February with snow and it was beautiful.

Even though our visit was short, this was the perfect place for us to spend the night. There was minimal noise and sitting on the deck watching the river traffic on the Ohio river was awesome! Our 7 year old granddaughter was with us - great opportunity to teach about river traffic and the importance of it for our country. I cannot say enough good things about the breakfast we received. Beyond all expectations--it was DELICIOUS! Between the three of us, we had waffles, a breakfast sandwich, tots, and an omelette. Delivered to our door!!! The host was exceptional with communicating! Do not hesitate making plans to stay here!

My wife and I had an amazing weekend here. The cabin was spectacular, cozy and super clean. The view off the back porch of the ohio river was incredible. One could spend the entire trip drinking coffee and watching the river as barges go by. Communication was wonderful. The host was in constant contact with us from day one of booking, and was overly accomadaring in every way. Breakfast was delicious and was delivered every morning we stayed even in the rain which was so sweet and incredible. I cant say enough nice things about this cabin and amazing host. The weekend stay with my wife here was so beautiful. I would highly reccomend this cabin to everyone. Again the host was so accommadating and their communication was superb. The cabin was so quiet, relaxing and peaceful. We truly enjoyed ourselves and cpuld not ask for a better experience. 10/10 and will be visiting again in the spring.
