I enjoyed my stay at Montfair. I loved having my own little cabin on the lake so much I extended my stay. I took time to walk the property and get out into the woods. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great property! 10+ Stars!

I and my family loved loved LOVED this resort! So close to everything! The cabin was adorable and my 4 year old and hubby had the best time! It was so nice to be out in the wilderness but also feel so safe! We will definitely be back!

Grandbabies Trip

We had a wonderful stay at the farm. We definitely cannot wait to come back. It's kind of a halfway point for us to see our grandchildren It would be really nice if you could put like a bar height chairs with a table on the deck so you can actually see the water and eat outside

This was a beautiful excursion for me and my girlfriend. I think it could’ve been cleaner, at least for her. However, when you’re staying in a cottage out in the woods I think it’s probably tough to keep all of the outside from being inside. That being said there were minimal bugs and other things like that in my opinion. The amenities were plentiful, I had everything we needed to cook in our beautiful cottage. The availability of canoes, bikes, and more was awesome too. I will definitely bring the more outdoor inclined back here again.

The Pawpaw A-frame cabin was great for our group of three. The stairs to the loft sleeping are pretty steep, make sure you are going to be at ease with a middle of night descent. Cozy and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful and there is lots of information on local hikes in the office. Great stay!

I love the rustic feel of the cottages and the small space is so cozy… To be able to walk out the door and go for a hike is the best part. Wineries are super close as well as some of the larger wineries maybe 30 to 40 minutes away. Crozet is also a great little town that has lots of concerts and festivals at their local breweries and cidery‘s great location, encapsulated by awesome mountain views

Lovely barebones cabin (but you are in a cabin, it should be barebones). Check in was easy. The "lake" view we had was at the very end and was more of a "woods" view. There is a beautiful farm up the road so be prepared for cows mooing early in the morning and at dusk.

It’s beautiful. The cabins are lovely. The one issue I had was the spotty wifi/cell service on property. That’s a problem because there’s also no other way to reach the office except via email from your cabin.

If you arrive after dark you may have some difficulty in locating your cottage. Also, be sure and bring your own food to prepare once your settled because there are no dining options available locally.

Very rustic experience

Rustic cabin. Probably nice in summer. But we were there in winter. The TV is ancient with rabbit ears for an aerial. Consequently there was no reception. Come on guys - this is the 21st century.

It was clean, there was plenty of hot water for the shower, and the bed was not terrible. But the cabin was in need of serious updates as it was shabby, musky, and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. It had two mini fridges and a mini freezer. Neither fridge was very cold even when turned all the way up. In the end, not terrible but definitely over priced considering the condition.

This community of cabins is located off the beaten path, with little to no call phone coverrage. We booked this a few hours before arriving, while on the Skyline Drive. When we arrived the check in staff had left at 5:00. There was information posted outside, with wifi access (which helped me access my Expedia reservation information) and phone numbers to call (but no cell service). Our cabin # was posted, so we proceeded to the cabin to find it locked....and lock box with no code. We returned to the check in space and tried again to call contacts with no luck. Realized that it was not locked, so looked around inside for information and eventually we were met by someone affiliated with the resort, who was able to provide us with the code to get into our cabin. Lovely setting. Cozy, comfortable cabins to enjoy a rainy overnight and morning before continuing on our journey.

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back! Such a peaceful place and everything had been thought of - the owners clearly know how to provide for guests and the atmosphere was excellent, too. A comprehensive guest guide, lovely facilities, easy to find but tucked away and close to the vineyards we wanted to visit. It was a calming, relaxed stay. Thank you!
