It was a great stay with our family. The house has beautiful views and we loved how it truly had everything you need. I will say the only down fall about it is that it is not technically 4 bedrooms meaning that you do not have privacy like a bedroom however there is plenty of space for everyone to sleep.

We recently spent a week scalloping at Crystal River. This house was perfect. The home was very nice and clean. Julie was easy to communicate with and helped us out with anything we might need. She has a dock at the end of the cul-de-sac (just a few steps down the street) that we kept our boat docked -that was very convenient not to have to load/unload the boat everyday. Would recommend and hope to be back in the future!

We have been coming to crystal river for 8 years now around the same time of the year for scalloping season. This is one of the best kept houses we have stayed at, equipped with everything you need! Just bring your groceries. The view was quiet and beautiful, the neighborhood was quiet and friendly! The property manager exceeded our expectations, she was easy to work with and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this property!

We had a wonderful stay for the start of scallop season at the Manatee House! We found the property and accommodations to be just as described start to finish! Dawn, the host, was a great communicator throughout our stay, which was particularly helpful as we happened to have a hurricane blow through during our stay! The beds were comfortable, the dock was spacious and the kids (ok, adults too) loved the pool/hot tub! We really appreciated the bonus space the house had to offer with the screened in garage. We had a fantastic stay and are already talking about when we can go back!

Top level: We would absolutely stay here again and we had a fantastic time. The house was well appointed--great features, great furnishings, and great layout. There were a couple of things that weren't ideal. The hot tub was not working when we stayed so that was a big disappointment. Also the fire pit/coffee table on the porch doesn't work so it's only the regular one in the back yard (however they had that one all set up with wood for us in advance which was so awesome!). And I will say the cameras were a little off-putting. They are not upstairs and I appreciated the ones pointing to the driveway and the dock, but there was one pointing at the pool and then also one pointed at the downstairs sitting area in the garage space. Both of those felt strange, having cameras on my family as we played in the pool and watched TV in that space. Outside of those, I have nothing else I could find fault with. Dawn was a pleasure to work with. They left flowers and chocolate for us on arrival (we stayed over Easter). The house was very clean and everything worked like the sinks, showers, washer/dryer, recliner, etc. The pool was AWESOME and my kids still ask if we can go back to Crystal River and "the pool house." We also enjoyed having the kayak available for use so that was much appreciated. I really can't say enough good things about our trip. I highly recommend this place and very much hope to come back!.

This house was perfectly appointed for renters. The location made for easy access to the springs or the gulf. The property manager was friendly, attentive and accessible. Overall this property suited our needs perfectly. I would highly recommend it.

The property is exactly as described. Our grandsons got to see an alligator and lots of little 🦀. We had a great time at the Fort Island Beach and also got some Redfishing in. The springs were very pretty although very busy on the weekend. Had a great time visiting the shops in downtown Crystal River with my daughter in-law and going to the Cattle Dog for great Lattes and lunch. Don't miss out on going to the Seafood Cellar and Cafe for at least one meal; great seafood and service!

Owners did not tell us we were not allowed to have 2 boats before booking the place (even though dock is big enough for 2 boats). Owners kept our full deposit, I would not recommend renting this place.

The place is very clean and well setup. The location for driving to Crystal River restaurants and retailers is great. The boat trip in via the canal is a little time consuming but you do end up at a good location to go up or down river. The property manager was very responsive and easy to work with before and during our stay.

The property was as beautiful as the pictures. The layout of the house and the yard was excellent. Having a fenced yard with a small dog was perfect. The screened porches provided excellent areas to eat and socialize. The house was extremely clean and well stocked. We had family staying a mile away and thought the house was beautiful also.

This was a great experience and I would recommend it to others. We brought our boat and the house was very easy to access by water with a great dock. The yard is perfect for kids, fenced and cross fenced. The property manager was very nice and had a great welcome basket filled with fun stuff for the kids for 4th of July. The house has an awesome screened in porch and garage area that we really enjoyed.

I spent a week at "The Manatee House" in Crystal River and it has been one of my favorite VRBO rentals to date! After visiting family in the Florida panhandle, I decided to take time to explore the Nature Coast with a friend, and settled on Crystal River because of the manatees, and at the recommendation of a friend. It did not disappoint, and neither did the house! The house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac on a canal that leads directly to the Crystal River. The home is very private and serene. We enjoyed sitting out on the large covered porch listening to birds and watching for wildlife in the canal - manatees, dolphins, and alligators are known to visit. We heard big-horned owls at night, and saw osprey by day. Only a brief manatee sighting was had in the canal at the house, but we did have a dolphin encounter on a chartered river safari airboat tour of the Homosassa River estuary and mangroves! Also recommended for short walks and nature and wildlife exploration are the nearby Crystal River Preserve State Park (bring binoculars!) and Three Sisters Springs - you WILL see manatees. We opted not to do a swim tour - maybe next time, because we DO want to come back. There are also good walking and touring opportunities at Crystal River Archaeological State Park, which houses an impressive Pre-Columbian shell mound, with great views of the Crystal River, and more manatees! You could even kayak there, it's not far from the Manatee House, but we weren't brave enough to cross the Crystal River, preferring to stick to the calm canals in the neighborhood. Bring a second kayak if you have multiple kayakers - there was only one working kayak provided at the time of our stay.
We also explored the town of Crystal River and enjoyed a few beers at the Copp Winery (which is also a brewery). I would also recommend Steamer's for seafood in Cedar Key, The Freezer in Homosassa for steamed shrimp, and Cracker's for conch fritters and clam strips. Yes, we ate a lot of seafood!
Of course, the kitchen was well-appointed and had everything we needed to grill and cook, and the and beds were super comfortable. I look forward to returning, and would recommend it to friends. Thanks for a great stay at The Manatee House!
