Cucuron is a splendid, lively, year-round village 28km south of Apt, at the foot of the Luberon mountains and surrounded by enchanting, colourful countryside with the Sainte-Victoire mountains, the Alpilles and the Alps on the horizon, hiking, horse-riding and mountain biking, tennis, fishing and swimming in the Durance and the Etang de la Bonde, and the market around the pond on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings with local artisans. Here you'll find producers of cherries, melons and olives.
The towns of Aix-en-Provence, Isle-sur-Sorgue and Avignon are perfect destinations for a day trip. You'll find the beaches of the Mediterranean at Carry-le-Rouet (50 km away), and the superb 18-hole Pont-Royal golf course just half an hour's drive away.
