"The hotel is an amazing building itself. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. They are always prompt to help at any time. The room was well cleaned and the service was excellent. We had a balcony in our room that had a garden view and we sat down every night to look at the stars. The breakfast options were vast, even for me who is coeliac. They were very helpful in providing anything that I had requested and I was super impressed as being a gluten free you always are on downside of options, but this was not the case there. There are plenty of restaurants options and the staff from Verona (Italian restaurant) mainly Francisco was amazing. I cannot say enough how he made us feel special on our dinners there. We have celebrated our wedding anniversary and my husband birthday and the staff were very thoughtful about it . The beach that it is by the hotel was amazing with a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our time at The Ritz Carlton in Tenerife and we will definitely be back soon."

"Friendly staff who were happy to help. Bar staff remembered people and their drinks. Variety of food selection on offer. Lots of sun loungers on offer although the hotel can block the sun occasionally. The room was fine, clean and spacious. Room and general internal areas of the hotel looked slightly old / outdated however no complaints. Only one issue was in the final morning before checking out, there was a fairly large leak coming from the ceiling above the shower, this didn’t affect me as I was preparing to leave and reception staff did apologise and arrange the maintenance crew to check."

"If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. This hotel is excellent for a certain type of holiday. For myself and my husband, celebrating our babymoon, our requirements were a smaller, quiet, adults only hotel that had a nice pool, and was easy on the budget. We got a great deal for half board. The staff were kind enough to upgrade our room and we thought it was an excellent size and very comfortable, We enjoyed breakfast (especially the fresh orange juice) but the quality overall of the food wasn't amazing. A lot of processed food and tinned fruit for example. Dinner was okay, a good variety but a lot of foods were just so bland. It would be nice if the filtered water machine was available at dinner as it is at breakfast, but I suppose they want to make money on drinks. Lunch by the pool was a little pricey but of a better standard. Beers and coffee were cheap, but soft drinks, juices and smoothies were pricey. The local area. There is a small supermarket less than 5 minutes walk which was good to buy beers, soft drinks and snacks for the room. There's also a great mexican restaurant for lunch called El Chile Verde, again within walking distance, but the opening times are a bit weird so make sure to check. We found the walk down to town very easy even at 5 months pregnant, and a cheap taxi back up. Puerto de la Cruz is quiet and nothing extraordinary but nice for an afternoon. Hotel Botanico & The Oriental Spa Garden

"This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in – and I have travelled a fair bit. The decor in the public spaces and in the room itself was exquisite. The staff were always smiling and helpful. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal in terms of quality and the range of choice. The gardens are magnificent and well tended. Look for the black swans! The spa was amazing. Our package allowed us free use of the spa. If we wanted a specific treatment we paid for it. The spa included two outdoor pools, one with jets, a jacuzzi in a grotto, and indoors there was a thermal treatment circuit available without charge which included three steam rooms, a sauna, an ice room, a jacuzzi, a very warm swimming pool, and a room with water beds. We tried two of the three hotel restaurants and especially liked The Oriental. We liked the aviary beside the breakfast area and it seemed well tended. There was live music in the large bar off the lobby every night. It was always at least OK but one night there were two tenors singing songs from opera and pop music and they were absolutely outstanding. There was a free shuttle bus down into the town of Puerto de la Cruz which we made use of several times. The location, near the La Orotava Botanical Garden, is nice and there are several restaurants and cafes within a few minutes' walk. It's easy to get the bus from near the hotel if you want to make a trip to La Orotava (which I recommend) or Santa Cruz, the main town of Tenerife. Altogether fabulous!"

"I loved my holiday in this hotel. The pools were clean and warm. The room was clean and spacious. The staff worked very hard and made us welcome. We enjoyed the lunch time exercise sessions in the pool. For all inclusive the food was varied enough with themed nights. Asian was the star of the show! Sometimes the waits were rather long for lunch in the pool bar, but this was ok. My only gripe is poor behaviour of some guests putting towels on loungers early and hardly using the space they had stopped other people enjoying & people putting their stuff on bar tables at lunch time then going off for a swim."

"Great option for budget Before mentioning any negatives, I want to start by saying the staff were amazing and highly professional. The person who greeted us was one of the best hotel staff members I’ve ever encountered and truly deserves recognition. It’s also worth noting that this is a 3-star budget hotel, so expectations should be set accordingly—you generally get what you pay for. The main building has great charm, being over 300 years old, which adds character to the stay. We booked a budget room (Room 104), which had a small courtyard but lacked any real views. One of the major concerns was the lack of air conditioning. Although units are present, they don’t work effectively. During summer, the island gets very hot, and the room often felt like an oven, which made it uncomfortable at times. The pool is small but serves its purpose well as a place to cool off. There is also a sun terrace with around 40 loungers, which is a nice touch. Breakfast was included, but as part of a budget offering, the hot food could have been better. It was often cold, and unfortunately, the plates provided didn’t fit in the microwave to reheat the food. The bathroom was missing sink plugs for both the sink and the bath, which was inconvenient. It would also have been a big improvement if the room had a fridge. On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location in a lovely town, ideal for those looking for a quieter holiday"
