"We were hosted by a welcoming farm couple to the upstairs bedroom and private bathroom in their home. Beautiful farm village just 5 minutes drive from the town of St James where we could shop. We were treated to breakfast in the morning in their front dining room overlooking their garden. Beautiful rural farm experience."

The receptionist couldn't find our booking info and claimed that they didn't receive anything from Hotel.com. Unfriendly behavior when trying to ask for help to find restaurant nearby. The room, sheets and towels were not clean. Breakfast was included but not clean either, so we did skip it. This was big waste of time and money. "What an unexpected treasure Château de La Ballue. I had booked this stay while touring the Normandy beach landings for just one night. What a shame we were only there for such a brief time. The home is charming and beautiful. The room was perfection and the grounds were such a surprise. I had no idea they were world class manicured gardens complete with a labyrinth! The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the staff were absolutely excellent and super friendly. The breakfast was lovely too.
