"The perfect stop from the south to the north (or the other way around or course). Affordable, friendly staff, local, very tasty menu options and very clean rooms"

"The Auberge de lâAbbatiale is a wonderful small family run hotel with excellent accommodation in a historic and very interesting building. Very friendly owner and staff. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Thoroughly recommended as a stop off point while travelling through France as it is located in a picturesque historic village fairly close to an exit on the A31 (13 km away). Half way between Calais and the south of France."

"This was such a fun & unique overnight stay on our long drive from Paris to Geneva. Our family of 5 loved the experience of sleeping in a treehouse in the middle of the woods. The accomodation is very charming but of course facilities are quite basic, so be aware that you have to walk a little way to toilets & showers. We drove 15min to eat after the very helpful host Jean pointed us in the right direction. A very memorable experience."

"A beautiful, quiet place hosted by a lovely older lady, who tells many good stories. Melin feels like the middle of nowhere, and maybe it is, but there are many animals to befriend. The place itself is simple, but cozy, with a heartfire burning in the early morning, when we were welcomed by the host at breakfast. It has a somewhat historical feel in that sense. Time did not touch this place so much. Speaking French is a necessary skill to have here."

"The room was spacious, quiet and warm. The dinner was really special. Limited menu but everything was superb as was the service and especially the dinning area. The breakfast was also very good."
"It is always a pleasure to stay here. The chalets, environment and facilities are well-maintained and well-equipped and it is very easy to relax here with a big smile on your face. When planning a long journey from the UK down to the Mediterranean coast, this is the first place we look to stay at."
"Good option for an overnight stay. I had booked the âsuperiorâ room but had to ask for it after being allocated a cheaper room. Service from reception was pleasant.
The âduvetâ bed cover was coarse and not pleasant to sleep under. My room AC dripped about 500ml of water overnight - the waste bin collected it!
The adjacent grill restaurant served decent food at reasonable prices.
Bonus was the reasonably priced electric car charging terminals. Note that the hotel is locked until 4pm, so donât bother hoping for an early checkin. "
