"We booked this property as we have an autistic child who find people and crowds difficult, once we arrived at the property and met the property manager it became clear that this wasn’t the only villa on this site there were in fact 2 others who could host upto 20 people between them and all outside areas and the pool were communal. This wasn’t what we were expecting as the listing never mentioned any of these things and said we had a private “oasis” with pool and pit door areas so obviously we...

"Pros: We had a super relaxing time in the apartment of Paula and Joaquin located in a calm village. Both are great and super kind hosts who gave us a warm personal welcome including small gifts from the area and insights on the region. The cottage was even better than what you see on the pictures: very clean, cosy, nicely decorated with love for details and equipped with everything you need. The pool area is amazing and we were even lucky to have it for our own. Despite located in a small...

"From the moment you arrive, the beauty of the hotel is striking. Walking in feels like stepping into a peaceful sanctuary. Everything about the design, setting and atmosphere immediately creates a sense of serenity. The staff are wonderful and beautifully attired. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment with its own private pool, and it was simply stunning. The layout and design were exceptional. Both bedrooms were beautifully done, and the bathrooms deserve a special mention; there are two, each...

Villa with pool in the Ourique region <br>sleeps 9 4 bedrooms

10/10 Excellent

"Nada a dizer"

Alte Tradition Guest House

10/10 Excellent

"Room was lovely, modern feeling, spacious and clean. The guest house as a whole is a lovely place to relax. Rooftop terrace with jacuzzi. Sofa area with honesty bar. Tables outside next to pool. Security coded doors for coming amd going. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the breakfast, really nice continental selection, oat milk optional which I really appreciated and did not expect, option of freshly cooked eggs and bacon in addition to self service spread. Guest house really central in village for exploring."

Monte do Alento - Castro da Cola

8/10 Good

"This property is a little oasis hidden away. While a bit tricky to get to as you have to drive on unpaved roads, it's worth it once you get there. The room had everything we needed, and the breakfast was wonderful and included local products. The location is quite rural, however, the closest town (Ourique) was only a 15 minute drive away. It's not a big town by any means, but there were a few restaurant options and a Pingo Doce and an Aldi for groceries. The only thing preventing this from being a 5 star stay was the atmosphere during our stay due to other guests. There happened to be a large family who booked during the same time as us and they completely took over the pool area. As the location is in such a quiet area and there isn't a ton to do, we were looking forward to sitting by the beautiful pool and relaxing in the afternoon. That was tainted by children screaming and jumping into the pool, in addition to them bringing a speaker and playing loud music for hours. They were having a good time and the property is family friendly so perhaps our fault for not inquiring, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway, this may not be the place to book. While it wasn't the stay we were hoping for, the staff and accommodation itself was wonderful."

Villa Maravilha - rural with private pool

8/10 Good

"Firstly would like to express how amazing Sara the Villa manager was! From start to finish. Few things were questioned but sorted immediately, also gave great ideas for dinner out locally & days out as a family! Was always on hand for any question we had within the 10 days spend there. Also popped in to check we were all happy with gifts. Villa was a fantastic size for 8 people. Lovely outdoor space and so much space inside. Only issue we had , was the swimming pool which after bringing to Sara’s attention, the pool guy can out and checked the water chemical levels, which he then said everything was fine, but it seemed to dye and stain all of our swimming clothes, towels and floats, especially the white. To the point we binned and left most of the stuff there, which was a shame and lots of it was new. The pool itself self was always clean , but I’m pretty sure the was a certain chemical level problem, or a chemical that would cause the clothes reacting. Other than that we all had a fantastic time. Only allows we to add 8 photos, but had many more 4 adults 4 kids"

Quinta Solar da Portela

10/10 Excellent

"Because we had problems with the car we were very late checking in. The owner who's birthday it was came to get us checked in and as l have recently had spinal surgery and walking was a difficulty he went out of his way to give us the most convenient room for me and my partner. FIRST CLASS SERVICE. Friendly welcoming staff superb 👌"
