VIEW OF CRAZY HORSE MONUMENT! Charming, Cozy, Rustic and gorgeous log cabin on private three acres with total renovation in 2019. Modern amenities. clean and new on RENTAL market 7/24/2019.

Sleeps 8; 3 queen bedrooms and 1 queen sleeper sofa. Cabin has 3 bathrooms, 2 are adjoining to bedrooms and the third large bathroom has a beautiful clawfoot tub. Showers are spacious and have custom made log vanities in bathrooms with modern delta rustic plumbing fixtures. Gas log fireplace, wireless internet, tv and modern kitchen with microwave, gas stove, large kitchen apron farmhouse sink. Hand made cedar log dining table seats 10.

Mount Rushmore, Elk Peak Mountain, Custer State Park, The Michelson Trail (great for mountain biking), lots of Hiking Trail, lakes to swim and fish are all within a close distance. Rocking R Ranch/Stable is within walking distance! The town of Custer two miles away is quaint with fun shops and restaurants that give the charm of the old west. Wild life is abundant at the cabin and it is not unusual to see buffalo in Custer State Park.

Sturgis Rally enthusiasts,, family vacationers, hunters and winter snow sports vacationers will enjoy this very comfortable and quaint property!

Great cabin in Custer

The cabin was clean, on a quiet street, and had plenty of room for our family of 5. The location is great - you can see Crazy Horse from the front door and the cabin is centrally-located between the other Custer- area destinations. We enjoyed the hot tub and the sunset views from the front deck.

The house is in the perfect location for enjoying the beautiful scenery of South Dakota. The views from the house were fantastic. We spent every morning and evening out on the front porch. The house is well supplied. Thank you Pam for allowing us to enjoy your property.

Sturgis 2025

Nice place to stay! We all had a great time. We had difficulties getting our 26' enclosed trailer into the driveway. Thanks to a thoughtful neighbor, we were able to unload our motorcycles and park our trailer on their property. Plenty of amenities. Whatever wasn't there, we had either brought, or went and bought. Only suggestion is updated and more pots and pans. Very nice little cabin, in a very quiet area. We'd stay again, when we return for Sturgis.

A great location and a beautiful cabin.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s close to many attractions, but is also comfortable enough to spend the day at the cabin and relax. Plus, the beds are so comfortable!

Wonderful Views and Perfect Location

Nice and close to town for food and fuel. Wonderful view of crazy horse. Great big firepit and large spacious deck! Great hot tub with plenty of room to entertain! Will definitely stay again!

Nice place

It seems smaller than the pictures, but not a problem. A few quirks from being a remodel, but nothing big. I think the temp of the water heater should be explained. Awesome location, very nice accommodation, we had a great time there.

Family getaway

Everything about this property was as advertised. It’s absolutely beautiful! We didn’t have to reach out to Pam for anything as all information was at our fingertips. The home was beautiful; the scenery was serene; the sunset was stunning! Kids enjoyed the fire pit and making smores and we all loved the hot tub.

Not enough time

The house was beautiful. There were 6 of us all adults . We had plenty of room . Very beautiful views . We could see Crazy Horse from the front porch . Early morning coffee watching the sun rise was priceless. Evenings relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring was so nice . The fire pit was well used and the grill . We will definitely be looking into renting this property again .

Awesome gem

This property was EVERYTHING we hoped it would be when we booked and more. We had read recent reviews before we traveled about concerns regarding the hot tub and code for entering the property. She was very prompt on her response to our concerns and there was no problem at all with either. The cabin is well stocked and so cozy and comfortable. Our surprise came when we didn’t have to put someone on the sofa bed since a loft was also available! We only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the activities that are so accessible. We would highly recommend this beautiful property (and already have). Thanks to our host for addressing the concerns we had in such a timely manner and having such a beautiful place to offer. We truly appreciate it and had a wonderful time!

Nice Visit...a few hiccups

We were informed upon our arrival that the hot tub was not available to use (bummer). The location of the cabin is lovely and quiet. The distance to Mt. Rushmore is listed as 10.8 miles but I think this is "as the crow flies" vs actual distance to drive. The Dish TV did not include Fox News Channel which is the only channel we wanted to watch during Our President's visit to Mt Rushmore this fourth of July. Bummer again. The home is very comfortable. Lots of ticks inside the home but being in the country, some are to be expected. Overall, a nice stay with a few hiccups as above.

Great Location with Beautiful Views

Beautiful location & views. The kitchen and living room are perfect! The shower off the kitchen had very little pressure and no cold water, only hot. No propane for the grill, when we reached out to Pam, she informed us there was an Ace Hardware in town! 😳 So if you plan on grilling, be sure and pack and haul your own propane tank. The front door is tricky, our code worked for 2 days, then wouldn’t. No answer from Pam or maintenance, so we had to leave for the day with the door unlocked. Later in the day when the maintenance came, they informed us that they don’t have reception where they live, so it could be a while before they contact us. Pam’s voicemail said she lives in Florida, so you are on your own. Upstairs area is cute, but there are very steep, narrow stairs to access it.

Family Vacation at Custer Cabin

First, the good things about this cabin. The location was secluded, quiet and beautiful but still only 10 minutes from town. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were well stocked with towels and toilet paper. There were plenty of plates, cups and utensils in the kitchen. The central AC and ceiling fans were a welcome relief on hot days. The large deck and outdoor seating were great for relaxing and enjoying the view (we even saw a doe and her tiny fawn one evening). This would have been a 5-star rating if not for a few supply and maintenance issues. The refrigerator had problems maintaining a consistent temperature and froze half our food. The other kitchen appliances worked great. And the water pressure was quite low if using two water sources at the same time, but there was no shortage of hot water. There was an electrical issue that caused the dining table light/fan and some wall outlets to not work. The property owner responded quickly and sent someone out, but it wasn't a problem that could be easily fixed. The VRBO listing noted that paper towels would be provided, but we were given only half of a roll. We were also asked to wash towels on checkout, but there was only about 1/2 cup of liquid laundry soap in the cabinet. The bathroom and kitchen soaps were also only 1/2 full. More supplies should have been provided for a week's rental. All in all, we loved this Custer cabin and would not hesitate to visit again.

Beautiful cabin with great views

We planned a trip with 6 adults and 2 teenagers. The “check-in process” was easy since we got the code to the unit in advance and arrived to a clean property. The only snag we encountered was the fridge not cooling the first day. I contacted Pam and she immediately got back to me and the maintenance person was able to come out and clean the coils within hours which solved the problem. I read a review that talked about the lack of lighting which is true since there isn’t a bright overhead light but there was so much natural light it wasn’t a problem. The location is great since it is so close to Custer and has a nice view of Crazy Horse. We really liked how quiet the neighborhood was to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. I think the unit could have used a better deep clean under beds and in some corners where there were dust piles but all of the kitchen surfaces and bathrooms were clean.

This property was wonderful! The beds were comfortable, hot tub was very relaxing, the table was large for friends to sit and visit, and the property was clean. The deck was a great place to relax with lots of space. This worked well for our group of friends to hang-out while we explored the black hills.Only two small complaints: There was a musty odor in some spaces. The outside lighting did not work (mood lighting - all other lights worked). The owner was great with communication, and at one point when we needed more paper towels, she quickly sent housekeeping over to supply more. The location was perfect for us to have a centralized location but still close enough to lots of different places to explore nearby. We didn't have kids with us, but it is clear this property would be very safe for kids with a gate around the hot tub and the Alexa system announces when the back door has been opened. I would absolutely stay again!

Property is well located to enjoy South Dakota’s parks and monuments. Check in was troublesome as we didn’t get instructions until after we arrived at property. Had to call host three times. Property needs more lighting. It’s very dark. Location is beautiful and with some upgrades property could be perfect.

Crazy Horse Cabin

The house was cozy with an amazing deck. You can see the Crazy Horse monument from the deck. The pictures online are true to form. It’s close to town but far enough away that you can enjoy the scenery.
