"We had a great time spending 4 days here! The house is well stocked with everything you’ll need and more! My kids weren’t bored at all and I’m so thankful we forgot toys, because they had plenty there. My only call out to future renters, the lake is a little walk and could be tough for the older guests and the water was pretty low so a decent step down into any boats, this might be seasonal and not the norm too. I would not let either of these things deter me from choosing to stay here though, we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend, especially for families."

"I thought seeing the place in person was better than the pictures. Very nice place and we fully enjoyed our stay. Would recommend it to anyone. The only drawback was the lakes are low so we couldn't go cracking."

"At first we were a little taken aback that there was no front desk clerk. But the owners texted us our individual door code which was also the same as our room code. They seemed to be very responsive as they replied to my “thank you”. That gave me some assurance that we could get a hold of someone, if needed. The room was updated and clean. Nice large screen tv, a good fridge, and comfy beds and pillows. Maybe I felt the carpet could’ve used replacing but everything was in overall excellent condition. We did not use the pool facilities or breakfast as we were visiting family in the area. It’s just a short drive to the grocery, walkable during the day. And another short drive to the downtown Nisswa area. Everything looked clean and bright! I’ll post some pics I took—forgot to take one of the room though! It was a pleasant stay & was within our budget. Would return again!"
Cozy Lakefront Cabin w/ Sandy Beach & Bunkhouse!

"Nice place. It's a bit funky with the extra bunkhouse but for 2-4 people works. Everything was comfortable and as advertised. The doc area is small and kids cannot swim there, just FYI and you might need to keep your boat trailer at the ramp which is very close by. Not a hassle but just so you know. Everything said, we would stay there again - and the lakes are awesome, great for fishing and cruising!"

The Lakeside On North Long

"This was our second year at The Lakeside and it was another great year. The great room overlooking the lake is really fantastic and big enough our 13-person group can hang out comfortably which is hard to find. The host is helpful and responsive and the cabin matches the listing. We had a snafu with the smoke alarm going off one night for no apparent reason but it stopped shortly after and the host quickly got someone heading out to take a look. No stay is ever going to be flawless but a responsive host helps make you feel comfortable and taken care of. Perhaps our biggest drawback isn’t within the control of the owner and host. The lake is really shallow out from of the cabin which makes it impossible to pull our boat in to the dock. It would be an amazing place for playing in the water especially with smaller kids. But for boats it’s not the best setup. The lake itself is fine for boating and tubing, just too shallow on the end of the lake this cabin is on. Too bad because the rest of it is pretty fantastic."

"Property is wonderful for a family. Gradual slope to water, nice spacious dock, shared beach area is nice. Plenty of firewood, we had bonfires every night. John was gracious and prompt in addressing any issues we had.Great to cook with plenty of appropriate cookware, which is rare in a vrbo. An umbrella for the deck table would be nice, as both upper and lower areas are in full sun in the a.m.Deck furniture was very nice and comfy. Covers supplied to keep it looking nice. Thanks for a great vacation."

"Amazing beach and location!! We’ve never experienced such a sandy beach like this and it was perfect for our toddler. We loved the water toys and shed/bar that was right next to the water. The public beach was right next to it, however we thought it was a bonus since it expanded how much beach we had to explore and swim in. We had a wonderful time and will be back!"

"We loved our stay at this cute little cabin! It’s clear that the owners have put a lot of thought into remodeling and upgrading the cabin to bring a warm, inviting atmosphere. While the cabin was small, it had everything that we needed, including extra blankets for snuggling into when enjoying cool mornings on the tree season porch enjoying the peaceful calm of the lake, and beach towels for some kayaking fun. Plenty of dishes and pots/pans/utensils too. Our 5-year old managed the stairs (ladder-stairs) like a champ and there was room for all three of us upstairs with his air mattress tucked against the wall (comfy cozy style!). The little bay that the cabin is tucked into isn’t great for swimming, but it is great for kayaks (provided) or canoe, and there are so many fish under the dock for little ones to feed. We drove to Pelican Lake beach for swimming, which we’d recommend to others. We loved how close we were to the bike trail and enjoyed doing some biking up and down the trail. Nisswa is very close, either by bike or by car, and we stopped there a couple of times for some shopping and food. Highly recommend this cabin! Thank you for sharing your property with us!"
