"This would be a five-star rating if not for the terrible mattress in our room. It was badly sunken in the middle and really brutal on my bad back. You could visibly see the depression. The rest of the facility was quite nice, clean, and well kept."

"Jen was great about communication and offering alternatives after a storm took the power out. The kids were bummed that they couldn’t fish from the dock because there were too many weeds, but they enjoyed taking the kayaks and the paddle boat out and fishing from those. The beach area, fire pit area, and deck area are great places to sit and relax. The inside of the cabin is very cute and had everything we needed. My teenagers loved the separate bunkhouse."

"This place was amazing and the getaway I needed. It had everything a person could think of from the kitchen, to water fun, to kid toys, they even had sleds in case you're there in the winter time, and firewood. My family is already asking me to book another stay."

"Our family of 8 adults and 7 grandchildren ages 3-16 had a wonderful time at your VRBO. We loved the coffee bar and spacious front deck facing the lake. The fire pit had ample dry wood which we used one of our nights. The kitchen was well stocked which met our needs of cooking for 15 hungry people. Plenty of sleeping areas allowed for everyone to get a good nights sleep. We brought our own pontoon and were able to dock it safely at the dock. The water is very low now so it was somewhat of a struggle getting out to deep water We didn’t use any of the lake toys provided by the host. It was shared with me at the end of our stay that the family was not able to gain access to the storage area. No big deal we had our own toys."

"This was our second year at The Lakeside and it was another great year. The great room overlooking the lake is really fantastic and big enough our 13-person group can hang out comfortably which is hard to find. The host is helpful and responsive and the cabin matches the listing. We had a snafu with the smoke alarm going off one night for no apparent reason but it stopped shortly after and the host quickly got someone heading out to take a look. No stay is ever going to be flawless but a responsive host helps make you feel comfortable and taken care of. Perhaps our biggest drawback isn’t within the control of the owner and host. The lake is really shallow out from of the cabin which makes it impossible to pull our boat in to the dock. It would be an amazing place for playing in the water especially with smaller kids. But for boats it’s not the best setup. The lake itself is fine for boating and tubing, just too shallow on the end of the lake this cabin is on. Too bad because the rest of it is pretty fantastic."
