"The Athens Tower Hotel is located in the center of historical Athens, right where most tourists want to be. There are literally hundreds of bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, and the hotel is right on one of the main squares. We had a room on the fifth floor with a gorgeous view of Acropolis that looked just like a postcard. It's also right across the street from the Metro, making it easy to get to other parts of town.
Pros:
*Location, location, location!
*Staff was super friendly, helpful and cheerful
*Breakfast was included and had lots of options so even a picky eater could find something to eat
*Restaurant upstairs had good food for dinner (not included with room)
*The bathroom was HUGE and beautiful. The shower had one of those rainfall shower heads and great water pressure.
Cons:
*Noise! Both external and internal. There's road noise. There's noise on the Square. And since we were on the 5th floor, we got the noise from the bar/restaurant on the sixth & seventh floors. Lots of drums/bass.
*Fragrances: Apparently they're really into aromatherapy. They had two machines in the hallway that sprayed fragrance into the air hourly. And when they cleaned the rooms, they sprayed fragrance there too. They shut them off for me when I explained about my severe asthma but it was still a lot.
I'm glad we stayed there for our first visit to Athens. I recommend it (if fragrances won't trigger your allergies) but I probably won't stay there again."
