"First our tv didnt work then they fixed, then the clock crapped out, and k cup coffee pot didnt work. The ocean view was the best-selling point for this room. All said, other than those couple negative problems our stay was good."

"Upon arrival, we learned that the hotel was in the middle of a major rennovation, resulting in a lot of dust. A ruptured water pipe resulted in no hot water throughout the entire hotel. We were offered a 100% refund so that we could find other lodging. But since this was spring break, the odds of finding a vacancy elsewhere were not favorable. They offered us a 30% refund if we wanted to stay in our reserved room (without hot water). We agreed to the 30% refund (they said the refund will be handled by Expedia). In spite of these unforseen issues, we enjoyed our stay. The room was large and comfortable and within walking distance of all that we wanted to see and do in St Simons Island."

"We enjoyed our experience here. The staff were helpful and nice. They went the extra mile to make us feel special for our stay. My only issue is that the state of the facility, specifically our room was below expectation for the price point of this resort. The rooms are quite dated. Our bathroom had a sewage smell and the room in general looked quite old and tired. I know this is an older and historic property, but it felt like there were updates that could have been made to keep the historic charm while improving the guest experience. The location and the facilities and things to do are abundant. Overall I enjoyed my stay, but would be more interested in returning if there are notable improvements made to the rooms to bring them closer to modern times. 7.5/10. "

"Reserved 1 bed, 1 bath but got 2 bed with extra half bath. We have stayed at the Villas by the Sea several times in different rooms. As always, the complex is beautiful and well maintained and staff is friendly. The condo itself was nicely decorated and you could see the ocean from the upper balcony and master. "
