What a great find, lovely setting. Just minutes from the motorway but felt like the middle of the countryside. All staff were very welcoming and keen to help. Food was very good, particularly breakfast. Only regret was we only stayed the 1 night.

It was pleasant enough. The staff we encountered were really friendly. The decor is a bit dated. Smelt a bit fusty … but it’s an old building so what do you expect. Lovely grounds. I struggled to sleep as the bed was too soft for me (personal preference). Not sure I’d stay again but did the job for the evening.

Just stayed one night so didn't use amenities or facilities. Room was basic but what we needed for the one night. Spacious family room with plenty of tea and milk provided, however was in an old building so needs an upgrade and a deep clean - lots of cobwebs.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the view from the breakfast room was delightful. Breakfast was a normal hotel spread and well set out. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was clean though very dark because I was on the wooded side of the building. The big let down was the state of the windows which must have been neglected for years and had to be propped open with a block of wood left on the window sill. General decoration was in need of a refurb and the main entrance doorway was in need of repainting. I assume the whole building is due an update and I'm sure it will all be lovely next time I book in.

Rooms are extremely dated. Circa late 80s early 90s. Staff extremely helpful and friendly; one of the redeeming factors in my stay and hence the 3 stars. Breakfast was fantastic. Dinner was overpriced for what seemed like a microwave meal
