Great getaway spot!!! Quick Access to Thunder Cover, one of PEI premier beaches, perfect for SUP paddle boarding, Kite Surfing, building Sand Castles. The kitchen at the cottage has everything you need to take full advantage of the flavours on Prince Edward Island, so there is no need to buy an oyster shucker or lobster cracker. There is also RV electrical and water hookups on the property.
Oysterbay Cottage is located just north of Kensington, PEI. Situated overlooking Darnley Basin, and within 5 minutes drive of Malpeque Bay. Home of Delicious Oysters and Mussels. Our family friendly cottage close to one of the premier beaches in PEI, Thunder Cove (20-minute walk). The perfect place to relax, unwind and drink a cold glass of wine.

The Space

Oysterbay Cottage is located just north of Kensington, PEI. Situated overlooking Darnley Basin, and within 5 minutes drive of Malpeque Bay. Home of Delicious Oysters and Mussels. Our family friendly cottage close to one of the premier beaches in PEI, Thunder Cove (20-minute walk). The perfect place to relax, unwind and drink a cold glass of wine.
This reservation has a Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, no pets.
Please follow Prince Edward Island Garbage Sorting Rules, failure to follow rules will result in loss of damage deposit.
We have a playpen for sleeping and toys for young children. HighChair available as well.

nice roomy cottage but needs a little work. Shed doors wont open, deck needs power wash a lot of moss, and the grass has not been cut for a long time.

Because Alex is so quick and thorough with communication, the check-in was seamless. GPS found the house easily. Cottage is clean, and well-stocked with herbs, spices, even olive oil!! Paper stock also good - all we had to buy was fresh groceries! The location was spectacular with its view of the mussel beds, comforting breezes and gorgeous sunsets. Website description regarding sleeping accommodations needs some tweaking, but 3 adults fit well, with one on sofa pullout in living room. I would use this site again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on PEI.

Excellent property

Exactly as pictured, lots of room and the view is amazing. 1 mile walk to Thunder cove beach. We really enjoyed the area.

PEI vacation

The property was very clean and comfortable, and the sunsets were gorgeous! Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We used this as our base from which we explored different parts of the island. We discussed a few concerns we had with the host, and he responded to them satisfactorily. We enjoyed our stay there very much. I’d rate this as a 9 out of 10.

Enjoyed our stay

It was the end of summer so it was really quiet in the area. Thunder Cove beach is just beautiful for a stroll. The evening sunsets from the front veranda of the cottage were so perfect.

Lovely cottage close to terrific beaches

We had a great stay at this lovely cottage in the Darnley area. Although it isn't on the water, it has a good view of the Darnley Basin and is across from a treed area. The neighbourhood is picturesque and quiet, and the red dirt roads are nice for a walk. We went to nearby Thunder Cove beach a number of times, along with Cabot Beach, and thought both were fantastic. It's also close to other amenities, like the Malpeque Oyster Barn (make reservations!) and the Darnley Greens. Alex was great to communicate with.

PEI Near water

Quiet, peaceful stay Nothing fancy but most of what you need.Best thing is it is a 5 minute ride or 20 minute walk to Thunder Cove Beech which is a fabulous beech. We spent time there very day - some days more than once.

Clean as a whistle

The property was spotless and had everything we needed for a 4 day stay. The short road to get there from the main road was extremely rutted, but we just had to drive slow. We were happy that many beaches were a short drive from the cottage.

Good and simple

The house was as described. Very simple and did the trick. No waste/compost/recycling bags were available upon entry but cleaning staff were quick to respond and bring some over. No direct access to water and views are nice but somewhat blocked by trees and other cottages. Very quiet neighborhood. Lots of things to do within a 30 minute drive from the cottage. Beach is free and a short 2 minute drive from the cottage. Really nice after supper when everyone has left the beach.
