Hotel Splendid is an excellent hotel in an excellent Dax location. Many restaurants and shops within 2-5 minute walk, the hotel was classic art deco design. Very comfortable, modern bathroom, nice towels. Will return

Staff were helpful. Hotel is very big and a bit/very tired in places and a bit weird. Breakfast was awful - burnt scrambled eggs, and weak coffee had to abandon it..The Spa was good. As it was a one night stop over it was fine. Would have been disappointed if staying for more than one night.

Séjour agréable. Hôtel de standing de style art déco très sympa. Le hall d’entrée est magnifique mais dommage que la rénovation des chambres ne soit que superficielle. Spa entièrement rénové et très agréable.

Toujours un bonheur

Deuxième séjour dans cet hôtel (voir mon avis enthousiaste en mai 2024 !), toujours aussi merveilleux. Quelques jours de repos en solo à Dax, et de vrai repos au Splendid. Tout est parfait : calme, confort, beauté du lieu, accueil, petit-déjeuner, spa... Cette année, j'ai pu aussi tester le bar, cocktails impeccables. Il faudrait être vraiment difficile pour ne pas être heureux ici, dans ce décor digne des meilleurs Agatha Christie ! J'ai déjà hâte d'y réserver un prochain séjour...

Disappointed that the cost of the spa was 23 per person and not 23 per day as stated... also told it was max 2 hours in spa for the price. Shower in room didnt drain so flooded the bathroom.. told someone would be up but no one showed so we just mopped it with towels as best we could. Nively sized rooms. High ceilings are great, beds reasonably comfortable. Breakfast had nice jams and locally supplied products but most hot food was cold. Good coffee and 3 machines so minimal wait times. Very nice dining room. Outside of building is being cleaned which is needed. Area is under construction so should be nicer soon. 100+ year old building which is fun. Closets galore in the room (5). Local parking on the road is free 6pm to 830 am. No connected parking included. Community parking is 1st hr free, an inexpensive thereafter.
