"this was our second stay at the Hotel Gran Playa within a year, we checked in late due to flight delays from Madrid to Alicante in the historic (el Apagon) black out in Spain the receptionist explained about the black out and no electricity no lights in our room tired and hungry from the ordeal and no bars or restaurants to go to, a lovely lady getting ready to go home after her shift I was asking where we can get something to eat offered us pizza from the kitchen i think her name is Mercy, we owe her deep gratitude for caring "

"The whole stay was lovely. We had a week there, the roof top pool was clean and not too cold. The buses were cheap to travel into Santa Pola and Alicante, less than 4 euros for the round trip. The hotel is only 20 minutes away from the airport and cost approx 25 euros each way. Gran Alicant has a mix of bars and restaurants all reasonably priced cimpared to UK. We had beakfast included which had a good choice. would recommend this hotel and will return to explore more of the area. "

"We had a nice stay at the property. We enjoyed the bar and we had an amazing dinner in the restaurant. The roomsxare a bit dated but were comfortable and clean. The pool looked great but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use it."
