Cozy getaway.

Service is very good and the desk staff are very helpful and warm. Only that the cabin seemed to be needing some updates, especially on the beddings and a newer bed.

Deer Harbor Resort

My husband and I stayed overnight for a wedding. Cottage 114 was a little small and the hot tub was more like a warm bath. However, my brother and my Pop both stayed as well and they had newly remodeled cottages (119 and 128) that they enjoyed very much. The grounds were well maintained and although the hot tub wasn't as hot as we like it, it was also maintained and clean. The front desk was pleasant and the surrounding area is lovely. We usually stay at Deer Harbor Inn and not Deer Harbor Resort but they were booked full. I will try to reserve back at Deer Harbor Inn next time.

Room was fairly comfortable until afternoon when it got quite warm due to warm, sunny weather. Unit was clean and tidy but no AC. Not having cell service from my unit caused some problems as I could not communicate with family members who were also on the island.

Beautiful surroundings

Deer Harbor Resort is very beautiful although somewhat quaint. We were there in early September and the weather and surroundings were gorgeous. The room did not have air conditioning so we had a fan blowing most of the time. It made staying in the room and sleeping at night rather uncomfortable. The room was wonderfully designed and very comfortable otherwise. My husband complained that the hot tub would not get very hot (a problem in the cooler months I would think) and that the bed hurt his back but the view was spectacular. At one point, the room was cleaned and the rubber shower mat was removed. When I went to the office to get another one, they didn't have any, which made taking a shower rather percarious. Also, there is only one restaurant close by and no stove in the room so we ended up getting pre made foods from the grocery store (a thirty minute drive), Unforunate.

friendly, quiet stay overlooking the water.

lovely setting. we stayed in a quaint historical cottage (other types of accommodation were also available). okay continental breakfast. somewhat removed from town, so dinner options were a little limited, but the nearby Deer Harbor Inn served good food at a reasonable price. staff could not have been friendlier.

we finally brought the kids...they loved it!

The room was great for our family because the bedroom was separate from the sitting room and kitchette, so my husband I could put the kids to bed and still have some time to have a night cap and hot tub after the kids were asleep. The room, hot tub, sitting areas and pool are very comfortable. They need to expand wifi to reach all the way to the rooms. I don't want to sit outside the closed lobby at night answering emails

Orcas island get away

This has the feel of a quaint and secluded resort. We stayed in a deluxe suite . The hot tub cover was in need of replacement and the deck chairs were not comfortable but what a view!!!This was an anniversary so we were not looking for family fun. But they had a nice pool and safe accommodations for kids. Easy access to marina fun. Good continental b-fast tho not local coffee. Even though it's not in the hub of the island it's not too far away to drive to whatever you want to do. We played golf at the local course. Hilly and challenging! Great weekend. Some day I hope to do a float plane!

Great relaxing location, friendly staff

Our unit was clean and comfortable, and tucked away in a peaceful Bay on the island. Check-in/out was a breeze and all front desk staff were helpful and kind. We really enjoyed the pool on a warm afternoon and the hottub on our deck was hot and private, though a little high on chlorine. Close to the small marina with great lunch items and out of this world onion-rings. Laundry facilities were at the marina, but clean and affordable. The Island is small enough where everything seems close within 15-20 minutes to the far-side. We will definnitely be back.

Beautiful and relaxing

We stayed in one the historic cottages. It could use modernizing such as updated shower and flat screen TV. Exterior paint could use a redo. The staff was awesome, helpful and friendly. The views and scenery are beautiful. The grounds are very nice. The pool and surrounds are very nice. The breakfast area was comfortable and the food was good. Not much on proteins but breads, rolls, cereal, yogurt, fruit, hard boiled eggs, good coffee. A short walk up the road was a great restaurant. The rooms have a fridge and microwave There is a small market on the dock in the marina. We were very pleased with our stay and will do it again. Sitting on the deck or in the jacuzzi as the sun goes down was so nice and relaxing. There is a small beach, kayaks, whale watching tours. We came by boat and did not have a car.

Lots of extras and amazing location

We were pleasantly surprised by our room and the whole Resort. The location is ideal, in a very quiet spot with stunning views of Deer Harbor. Lots of extras in the room (hot tub in the terrace, fridge, microwave...) made it a great value for money experience. We'd definitley stay again!

Resort is a misnomer. Maybe Deer Harbor Motel.

We thought the bed was kinda hard. The biggest annoyance was the curtains in the room. They were mismatched and only one was opaque enough to shut out most of the morning light. One window covering was almost transparent. Very sheer. Unfortunately, it was on a window that faced a street. My wife was pretty sure anyone driving by could look in. We used one of the complementary bath robes to cover that window. Another window didn't have any curtain or otherwindow covering. We used a chair cushion to cover that one. I felt the room could have been a little nicer for the price we paid.

A LOVELY BREAK FROM THE TEXAS HEAT

THE CABIN WAS MORE THAN WE COULD HAVE EVER EXPECTED- THE FRONT DESK STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONAL ! THE BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING FILLED OUR TUMMIES AND HELD US OVER UNTIL DINNER TIME. HAVING A FIREPLACE AND A HOT TUB WOW-ED US. YES, WE WANT TO RETURN. Overall splendid place!

We stayed in the "historical cottage", nice enough, slightly dated, the other cottages in the pictures are probably more updated. My one complaint would be the bed was hard. I folded up a blanket from the closet and put it under the sheet for some softness. There was an under-counter fridge, microwave. Nice place to stay, for sure. Very nice people in the lobby- great breakfast-yogurt, granola, muffins, excellent coffee, teas, juices. We did not get to use the hot tub, but it is right on the deck outside of the sitting area-very convenient. The cottages are on a steep drive that you can walk down to the harbor for a great wildlife/whale watching tour with Tom from Deer Harbor. EXCELLENT crew, great adventure! SUPER referral, Janine@Deer Harbor Resort! (10% off for DHR guests) There is also a nice walking trail that is paved well enough for someone with foot or balance issues. Beautiful scenery and a bench or two. Easy drive to horseback riding stables, good restaurants, shopping. Drive slow, see deer, eagles up in the tree canopies, bunnies. Magical place.

Nice cottage

The cottage was very clean and comfortable except for the hard bed. We prefer pillow tops. The hotel employees and view were fantastic. You have to drive for food unless you want to utilize the bbq for meals.

Each Cabin has a Hot Tub!

Our stay at Deer Harbor Resort was pleasant but not outstanding. Positives include: Friendly staff, clean room, personal hot tub on deck, lots of towels, fireplace and a nice breakfast spread in the morning. Negatives include: no pet friendly rooms, heated pool not open and the mattress was hard and lumpy.
