Hotel Hafen Hamburg

"Hotel room was clean but very hot and airless in the July sunshine. Reception warned me about this when I checked in. A fan was available and provided much needed circulation of the air but was noisy. The balcony door did open but let in the sound of trains at the nearby station. The hotel offered a change of room but not until the last night (of three). A very good choice of foods were available for breakfast, though seemed pricey at €29. Best thing about the hotel was the helpfulness of the reception staff who were always willing to offer advice about travel arrangements and things to do in Hamburg."

"Very close to public transportation and so easy to get to. The room was a good size and loved the atmosphere of the lighting. Also really loved that the room had AC since we stayed during the beginning of their heat wave. Staff was very friendly every time they saw us coming and going."

Empire Riverside Hotel

"Convenient location by the river and Reeperbahn. The room was spacious and really clean but there wasn’t a kettle or coffee machine provided. When we asked for one they told us there were none available to offer. They did offer to make us tea and coffee on request but that was inconvenient because you have to request via their chatbot or physically at reception. We utilised street parking and there’s a charging station right outside the hotel. Would be nice if there was access to the bar level for views outside of their opening hours. Nevertheless it was a nice stay for one night."

"La Sala is not a good restaurant, bad service, avoid. The Constant Grind is good for a quick breakfast. They will not do the room unless you let them know before 8am, so forget having the room done on your first day. By default, they only do it on the third day... For the almighty environmental God!!! Besides that, it is good overall. "
