Chattahoochee Shoals – Cozy Pet Friendly River Cottage

Bring your fishing rods for excitement on the banks of the Chattahoochee River! Chattahoochee Shoals boasts over 220 feet of riverfront. In this newly renovated home, guests will enjoy two floors of indoor and outdoor living space, with spectacular river views throughout. Open any door at Chattahoochee Shoals to enjoy the relaxing sound of the Chattahoochee River rushing over the plentiful rocks and boulders. Bring your kayak or just sit by the water and let the day flow by. Enjoy the large deck overlooking the river while grilling on the gas barbecue, head to the lower deck for a relaxing soak in the hot tub, or continue down the new stairs to the outdoor firepit. Don't forget Fido or Fifi! Chattahoochee Shoals is pet-friendly.

The main level has an open floor plan (new flooring), with new cozy furniture and a smart TV. There is a subscription to YouTube TV so you have access to live local news, sports, movies, and your favorite tv shows. Dine at the round table or the bench table in the kitchen, while enjoying all the light that shines from the walls of windows. The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a king-size bed. The adjacent bath featuring a shower/tub combination.

The kitchen has new granite countertops, full-size stainless steel appliances, and brand-new cabinets and backsplash tiles. The cabinets are filled with all the dishes, pots, pans and utensils you will need to cook up a fantastic meal at home, or at your new home-away-from-home! The coffee maker is both a standard drip with a 12-cup carafe and a one-cup Keurig. Just off the kitchen is the laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

Upstairs, the oversized loft has two queen beds, a sitting area, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Downstairs is the large entertainment room with a large screen Smart TV, also connected to YouTube TV. The hot tub is located just out the sliding glass doors. The new furniture in this room is a futon sofa and lounger. Room for 3 more guests! The downstairs bathroom has also been remodeled with a brand-new walk-in shower.

Guests frequently return to this jewel to enjoy the river and the ever-changing year-round views. Now it's time to revisit to see all the renovations and upgrades to a family favorite!

The road going to this cabin is gravel and dirt. The long steep private drive is paved and has a one-way sign for easier access and direction. We recommend an AWD or 4X4 during winter months.

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $25 + tax for each additional.

The house/cabin was comfortable and the view in the back is just wonderful. Our only issue was that we found out late the hot tub wasn’t full and did not get to use it all weekend. However property manager did respond and gave a small refund.

I wanted to get away and hide in nature and this home fit the bill perfectly! The sound of the river was so calming and the hot tub made it better. I watched the kids hopping along the rocks while enjoying my coffee. Gorgeous views!! The house also had everything we needed to make a Thanksgiving feast. The only thing that stressed me out was that driveway. My car barely made it up the hill and sustained some damage. I would return but with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Highly recommend.

The view and location was amazing. Very steep driveway. The cabin was nice. The only problem is m allergic to mold and suffer from chronic migraines. The minute ee opened the door the mold smell hit you in the face. I was up all night sick from the smell triggering my headaches. Called property management and told them we were checking out due to the mold smell . They quickly did a refund for part of our trip. That about sums it up.

Upon check in we had a few issues to discuss with the management company. After speaking with them, all was explained and went well. The location is nice and private, but close enough to ride into Helen each day. The kids enjoyed the river and we were just happy to unplug for a few days.

The cabin needs some updating. The management company did a great job coming over and repairing the broken shower door. Very steep driveway. A truck or an SUV is a must.

The only issues were a few bugs in the house and the chairs outside were wet. It would be nice to have a spot outside to put them up when not in use. Other than that it was perfect! We will return.

Furniture updates in family room and downstairs since our last stay were nice although we preferred two couches over two tables. That's just because the six of us gather around TV for Jackbox family game nights (Xbox). Mattress in master bedroom is wonderful. Customer service is top-notch. Planning to return.

We stayed at this cabin for a two night fall weekend in the mountains. The gate was locked when we first arrived and we had to call the mgt company to gain access to the property. The kitchen was under stocked, compared to other places we've stayed. The hot tub wasn't working properly. The house had persistent flies, which seemed odd for late Oct. The location is gorgeous, but getting to the back where the fire pit is and down to the river bank is quite precarious. Lots of steep, uneven ground with exposed roots that was hard for us to navigate. The actual spot had a beautiful view. The towels were well stocked. Plenty of trash bags and dishwasher tabs provided. Wifi worked well. Kids enjoyed the air hockey table.

It was very clean even for being an older home, no pet smell to it. There were some neighborhood dogs running loose so beware if you have pets or out walking (we came upon them a couple times) Plenty to do with game room, jacuzzi, river/hiking. WiFi works good. Lots of places/things to see/do within a 30 min drive in any direction. 3 full baths and 3 beds. The one thing that should be stated is how steep it gets going into the place and leaving. Very steep incline when you leave. Lots of deep ruts in the road from rain. HIGHLY recommend 4WD vehicle. Other than that, we will return to this place if available.

After full day excursions to different hiking trails, Tallulah Falls, Panther Trailhead, Kayaking the Chatt we came back to relax in the hot tub, wonderful! Then wanted to play a game or watch a movie but Direct TV no movie channels, netflix/roku not connected to the internet, no movies for dvd player and no board games. Not a big deal because we brought a few movies and games since we camped on our way to the cabin. MUST have 4 wheel drive. We have a dodge ram 2500 pick up and still experienced slipping while on the steep gravel road to get to cabin, then a driveway that made you feel like you would roll down the mountain sideways. We loved playing in the river and listening to it on the deck. Neighborhood dogs were threatening to my dogs while we were at the river. They may be friendly to people but not to other dogs. The rental company was excellent, helping us with where to store our camper while we were at the cabin and making sure we were good once we got there.

As a disabled veteran with a service animal and another 2 dogs, I found the booking process very accommodating and the staff extremely helpful.Pros: •The place is very nice, clean, and nestled next to the Chattahoochee River. •The house is surrounded by nature, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. •Easy access to nearby towns and attractions, with Walmart just 12 minutes away and Helen, GA, about 25 minutes away. •Comfortable beds and great water pressure in the shower. •The house is well-decorated in a minimalist style, making it feel cozy and uncluttered. •Pet-friendly with a reasonable fee for pets. They even provide pet bowls (for smaller pets) and plenty of towels marked “doggie.”Cons: •Arrival Night: Do not arrive at night! The GPS only gets you so far, and the last part of the journey is pitch dark. You’ll need to follow specific directions to navigate the gravel driveway that turns into concrete. There’s a right turn marked by a sign on a tree; missing this turn leads to a very steep hill. Trust me, going up is better than going down! •Bugs: Forget about enjoying the deck at night due to the bugs. It’s best to return home before sundown. •Free-Roaming Dogs: People let their dogs roam free without leashes. One of my dogs is aggressive towards other dogs, and a large dog approached us causing a bit of panic, leading to a fall down the steep hill. Luckily, no severe injuries. Despite these challenges, the rest of our trip was uneventful and enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful, with easy access to the river. There are steps or a side path to get down to the river, where there’s a great spot for dogs (and humans) to enjoy the water. My dog loved it!Overall

I stayed Monday through Monday and it was fabulous seeing the canoes come down the river on the weekend. Will absolutely book again.
