Greeted by dead bugs on the floor when I entered my room. Even though non-smoking, the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The guests next door where either having a party or argument, so the front desk moved me to another room. This next room had the same smell. Sheets had holes, blanket soiled and torn, and cigarette burns on the bathroom counter around the sink. The curtain also didn't cover the entire window. This is a tired old motel that needs either a good cleaning or closure. Won't stay there again.

Hey, this is not the Ritz, it’s a serviceable accommodation that accepts pets near the airport. So the night manager was friendly and efficient. The room was clean but has seen heavy use. The guests were quiet, mostly construction workers looks like so no rowdy stuff during the week. The stay was good enough. I recommend with understanding you know what you’ll be getting, price reflects that.

I needed an affordable motel in walking distance of the DSM airport so that I could return my rental car the evening before an early morning flight. Motel 6 was the perfect choice. It was located next to a local diner and a fabulous grocery store, was clean and simple and fully adequate for my needs. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Non smoking room but had a very heavy smell of smoke; enough that my clothes smelled like smoke long after we had left the room. There was also a lot of mold around and everything seemed to stained, including the bed. Celling

We got there a little early and the lady at the front desk cindy was rude and not polite to my fiance and I. The only good thing was the hotels resturant the hallways were extremely hot and when we got into our room it was 80 degrees

I guess it's not standard operating procedure to clean the room every day. We had to ask for towels and toilet paper, and finally put used towels and garbage outside the door. The bed was made the first day and never again for the time we stayed, and the carpet is gross. We asked for a non smoking room and got a smoking room. How did we know? the cigarette burn marks on the bathroom counter and shower, and the smell. We unfortunately for Motel 6 won't be staying in one again.

We went to the iowa state fair. We had fun and it was amazing. We loved the motel and will always stay there if a room is available and if we need one. Thank you so much!

Will not stay there again. Room was dirty and the door was open when got there because it didn't shut correctly. The people in the room next to us had a domestic abuse situation and we had to call the police. Beds were lumpy and there were burn marks on the sink in the bathroom were people had smoked. Bad situation all the way around. The staff were friendly and nice is the only positive.

The male receptionist lied about giving us a smoke free room. Instead of saying and staying with there are none avaliable after i explained my daughters astha. The room was also full of pet fur.

Bad neighborhood. Room was bare, no Kleenex, no shampoo or lotion, no microwave or refrigerator. Minimal TV channels. Thin towels, floor needed sweeping, no drawers or chair. Very disappointing

Had no other options
Years ago I used to stay at Motel 6's quite often and they were generally respectable, albeit very basic and no-frills. But apparently times have changed. I got their last available room during the Junior Olympics week when rooms are extremely scarce. Naturally it was a smoker's room so I knew upfront it wouldn't be too pleasant. To make matters worse, there were flies, gnats, and mosquitoes buzzing around the room all night and the mattresses were uncomfortable. If I didn't have my 9-year old daughter with me I wouldn't have hesitated to sleep in my car that night.

AWESOME BED & SHEETS!
I was attending a concert at the Hoyt Sherman place, 3 miles away. I just needed a place to sleep. The room itself was worn & in need of repairs, but the bed & sheets were SO COMFORTABLE! I even slept while the planes were flying right over the room! I found the plane noise quite comical & I'd LOL every time one flew over, in the morning. The service at the desk was awesome, too. The Wi-Fi wasn't very good though.

Rooms were terrible and dirty 1. First room heavy smoke presence. 2. Second room heavy smoke. Cigarette burns on furniture and bathroom sink. 6-8 burns. 3. Room missing top lock. 4. Five large drill holes open for viewing inside room. 5. Floor carpet saturated with water. 6. Blood stained comforter. 7  Fighting in the halls between a man and a woman 8. Two people standing in front if my door, felt unsafe and had to put chair in front of door. Luckily the hotel staff was kind enough to let me check out and reimburse the rest of stay.
