"My husband and I stayed for 8 nights in the middle of October, 2026. Our stay at The Coast in Tamarindo was our best vacation in 10 years! It was our first time in Costa Rica. We always do a beach vacation, but we were looking for something with more activities this time. The Coast has its own surf instructor and surf board rentals on its property, which was massively convenient. The area right in front of this hotel is coveted surfing real estate, so the location could not be more prime. We showed up right at the tail end of the surf season, at the end of the rainy season, also before the area started to swell with visitors for the high tourism time of year. It was perfect! Even if you don’t want to surf, it’s wonderful sitting in the beach chairs and watching others do it. The pool was plenty big for us and the temperature was perfect. The beach is beautiful and great for walking - unlike some other places (such as Cabo, where there is a steep incline).
The staff were all very kind - specifically Diejan was our favorite! He was genuinely excited to see us and talk to us every day. He was also very organized and prepared to give us info about our airport transfer, breakfast order, etc.
The room had a small dehumidifier in it, which made a huge difference for us. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessary dishes, appliances, etc. We were thrilled with our experience!"
