"We had an amazing time at Nita and Marty’s place. They were so accommodating to our scheduling mishaps, helped arrange outings, and assisted us in navigating finding a doctor on a Sunday. The property was so comfortable, with lovely creative touches in the decorating. Our sons loved splashing in the pool, visiting with he friendly dogs, and exploring the tail down to the creek. I gave this 5 stars because I have no doubt this was the best property in the area. The views are incredible and you are looking at the ocean while you are in the jungle. The free breakfast was a highlight for our family as we all spent time together eating both local and (US) standards. The dinners were equally delicious. This resort far exceeded my expectations. Even though it was low season, and the resort appeared to be almost empty of guests, it felt fully staffed and the service was excellent in every respect. I was a little worried during the taxi ride to the hotel that I had made a terrible mistake in picking the hotel as some of the areas look a little rough (by American standards), however, once at the gated hotel I realized that I indeed had made a good choice when choosing the location as the property is incredibly calming and beautiful. Just know that since you are out of the city you will need to use Uber eat or a taxi to get food as there is no onsite restaurant.

The Staff here are AMAZING! We stayed for only one night before returning to SJO airport. We needed assistance with transportation and the staff here bent over backwards to make calls and help us. This property is clean and has a nice breakfast. The ONLY negative I would give it - the noise. If you cannot sleep with earplugs, you may want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, you cannot go wrong booking La Fortuna Lodge.

Great place to spend a night before our flight home. The host met us at the door when we arrived and was up at 4:30am to see us off. My wife and I walked to several nice restaurants just 8 minutes away. Very close to the airport, very clean and great value! Had A/C and a refrigerator to keep some food cold. Safe, gated parking but definitely not a lot of room. We had a mid sized SUV which fit fine, but anything bigger would be a tight fit. Would definitely stay here again.
