"Nice very large Western/Japanese room with excellent front desk staff. Took just a few minutes to checkin. The front desk was very helpful and volunteered to bring our luggage to our room when the bell boy wasn't available. The open air onsen in the room was artistically done and was enjoyed at least 3 times a day. The reason the rating was taken down because of the restaurant manager. "Good onsen facilities. Well maintained place, good value for money."

"A dated hotel in need of update. Our suite was reasonably comfortable but it was very dated. Breakfast area was big and comfortable. Food was average. The gym was updated, guests are required to wear the hotel’s shoes to use the gym which was a big negative. There’s no reason why guests can’t wear their own shoes in the gym!"

"Very nice, modern hotel close to Takayama train and bus station and the old town. The hotel is modern, rooms are reasonably compact but very nice, clean and modern. The spa is nice with great views over the city. Takayama is lovely and very pretty with some very good restaurants. Shirakawa-go well worth the 50.min trip from Takayama. Definitely recommend the Amanek hotel"

"Wonderful location. Perfect for the family. Kids loved the projector in the room for a movie night after a long day walking"

"Staff were caring friendly and incredibly helpful"
