Although the meteorite itself was dissolved on impact, these impactites were made when the local rocks were super-heated. Visit the nearby château (which is now an art museum) and the meteorite history walk. There is also a small meteorite museum in town that is well worth a look.

"The Auberge is typically French Country Style but clean, tidy, and friendly. Particularly the owners who work hard to be accommodating and efficient. We really enjoyed our stay and can gladly recommend it. The bedroom was a good size, comfortable and clean. The food too was excellent."
